they haven't increased the minimum price this year but they put in a weigh bridge and now weigh all loads at the city of whitehorse transfer station on burwood hwy
but the one people in vic will have to watch in the new financial year will be general waste charges i read somewhere the state gov will increase it's fee to councils from $9 to $30 from the 1st on july can't remember if this was per tonne or per metre
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

    Just to make you jealous.

Where I have moved to, Temora in NSW. The council charges me $8.00 for 8x5 trailer of green waste or builders waste, Ute and Trailer is $12.00 and grass clippings are FREE. It would make you weep considering I was paying $30.00 a trailer load on the south coast and $55.00 for builders waste. NSW Government and local councils SUCK

Tip number one has gone up from $22 a trailer 18 months ago to $33 now, with 3 rises in that time, tip number 2 went up to $33 from $28.50 over xmas, for up to 200kg. Above that is per 5 kg at $180 per tonne. (Green waste for both)

Just don't loose it & get banned. (Long story).
We simply have no viable alternative
Paying by ASSESSING volume really isn't accurate, particularly for smaller loads.
You pay $25 per meter, but there is NO part there of.
Don't even know if its legal, what happened to weights & measures?
Their rates doubled over night a few years back but, to be fair, haven't gone up since.
Fred was a top bloke, Eric .... hmmmm!
10yrs since it opened eh? wow time fly's.
10yrs since you joined this forum? 4posts?
You need to tell us a few stories of the past decade. Merry Xmas.
    Cheers Fred

Dang! What do you guys charge for green waste when you're paying those prices.

In Adelaide it's hit and miss but the most I've paid is $50 for a 4x4 foot trailer loaded to the brim. Usually pay $33.

I was using a mob in bayliss rd but went from 15 a mtr to 30 in less than 12 months . Haven't been there for a while now so who knows what their charging. I have a couple of the council greenwaste bins and have resorted to leaving them at customers nature strips on their pick up days to get a free empty.

Ive had this in the past. The dump here wanted to charge for dual wheels even though the bin on the trailer is only 7x5. Fixed that by going over the weigh bridge and now the charge is their minimum.

My average lately is $52.50 or $70(1.5 or 2 cube) 7 x 5 trailer 3/4 full. It depends who you get on the gate. Only ever done 1 full load in this trailer and it was $105
