Hello guys and gals, just curious, what brushcutters does everyone like to work with?

I was using a Kaaz with a Mitsubishi motor and found it a great light powerful snipper still going strong as my back up.Originally Posted by The Local Gardener

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Hey all. I'm new to all this and just got my pack in the mail.
Just a quick question about brushcutters/whipper snippers... What's the difference between a straight shaft and a bent shaft (apart from the obvious)?
Does one have benefits over the other?
Cheers.
I like my GMC Bent shaft electric with bump feed......LOL
Very funny :P
I had one of those that was given to my ex-housemate. It lasted 30minutes before catching fire. Oh the joy!
These days i have the Honda 25cc brushcutter, great machine, super light and still gets through the rough and tought with no questions. Fitted with a Tanaka head of course.

To me bent shaft have more friction = less power to the line/cutter. Also i just cant use bent shafts, after using straight for so long the bent shaft made me feel like a complete gumby.Originally Posted by fekkinell
I think bent shaft are designed for more home users too, not sure the engine are as well built.
About the head. i use a pull and twist thing. after threading the holder thing its much faster to lengthon and go. Also less wasteage and dont have to carry the spare in my pocket or hold the waste in the other.
I used to dream about owning a GMC bent shaft electric...
Kawasaki.
