Its been a mission getting it this far I have to say. Worst job Ive ever taken on, and Ive done some pretty shocking crappola in my time!
Not finished yet. Going to take a lot more work to get it back into proper shape. Depends how much they want to put into it. It already needs another cut and slash.

I took invoice around today for whats been done already. No more happening until thats paid.

Hay bailer! Oh, your a funny guy! haa

Looks like a lot of work - and a nice finish - I'd be charging round the $350 mrk based on your stat's.

The job I did was charged at $300 and that was mate's rates for a friend of a friend. Think I did alright. Thanks for the compliments folks.

so with this thread about pricing, i thought this next question appropriate.

is $50 hr for your solo op good enough to make a very nice living in australia, of course depending on location.

i mean, your dollar spends differently over there, so curious how it compares.

No its not Grassman, i wouldn't work for that figure but many do.

If i charged that rate i reckon i would have over 2000 customers by now.

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

the guys in the cities are able to charge more than us country bumpkins unfortunately -
country people seem less inclined to pass over their hard earned....

Not really Grassman, although our dollar is on par with the US$ we pay more taxes than you guys in the US do & simply pay more for just about everything we buy here. You would be shocked at the prices we pay for lawn mowers, blowers, whips etc.

I don't mow lawns much any more, preferring chainsaw, hedge trimmer & landscaping work, but I was charging about $1 per minute to mow residential lawns 2 yrs ago. That must have gone up by now? It depends on where you're located too. I doubt guys in country towns could charge like guys in cities do. And guys in Sydney were charging $55 an hour 8 yrs ago when we here were still on about $35 an hour.

What a big difference. Well done. Im sure it wasnt much fun! Did you trim, rake, mow?

Got an update on the cr@p job I was doing. I gave them the invoice for work done so far about a week ago. It was a pretty big bill! But have had trouble getting back in touch with them to let them know no more work was going to be done until it was paid. Ive been stressing about it actually!

Anyway, I went around there this morning and luckily the hubby was there. He told me to come down to there work and get paid no problem. There shop is on the beach front at Coolangatta so wasnt really a chore. Have a look at surf and the MANY MANY sweet little surfer chickies. Paid up and happy as can be. Back again next week to try and clean it up a bit more. Should be ok this time as the hubby hit it with there ride on but hit a mound of soil and broke a belt! haa He is NOT happy about that! They hate the property and how much work it is, when they work such long hours. Glad I got that Victa 550. Its gonna get a work out thats for sure!

Anyway, I'll try and get some more pics up next week.

Nice job Tom. Baffles me how people can let a yard get to that stage. Any follow-up work in it for you?
