Was thinking the same thing. Would have been a reasonably old specimen going by the size.

Yeah. The client was trying to sell it but had no luck at all. She even hooked up with some outfit that let you trade plants with other peep... But no takers for 2 months. So ... It had to go.
Put it this way... She was happy with it gone... We charged $500. to remove it.

Looks like it was an easy one except perhaps 4 the tight situation.
The root sytem looked minimal & u left plenty of trunk 4 leverage.
Where u in a posi to get a winch/tow rope onto it? Or just have to keep diggin?
    Cheers Fred.

No we couldn't winch it, just had to digg, ya the idea was to leave plenty of trunk on it to lever it, NOTICE I made a few nicks on both sides of the trunk so the rope wouldn't slip...

The tree's interior was like milk.
Greenies chain saw just sliced through it like cutting butter.

Some pics of some of the 22 acres I mowed the last 2 days. A marathon effort for the little 44" gravely, but it's only a one-off.(maybe once more)

Ha Ha Mick, I don't think a minute went by in those 2 days where I wasn't wishing that little red bantam would turn into a big yellow rooster.
