The free standing ones are the easiest cause you can just walk around them starting at the bottom and work around and opposite to peeling an apple. Those ones against the wall and over the hedge would be extremely difficult, especially the first time, I reckon you've done a great job, the effect is there the client will be happy! You'll develop an eye for each of them and will be waiving the hedger around most of them without a second thought in no time, and get the pruners out for the bits against the walls etc. Good work I say, who wouldn't want a garden that looks like that.

    x3,
I also use a pole hedger as it gives u better perspective.
Balls r the hardest (most time consuming ) to trim as the contact point is minimal.
    No jokes please

Mate you and me both. Zwe used to have 1000 ltr tank towed behind a tractor with a dickie seat at the back of the tank. Guess what my name was dickie. That bloody thing could buck worse than a bull. It threw me plenty of times untill I learnt how to ride the bastard.

yeah i remember dad using 245d/t cant remember which it was,

wouldnt be surprised if the old bugger still has some hidden away in the shed,

70 yrs old and still farming small crops; can still work harder than me; puts me to shame

but like they say, hes one of the breed when he stops working he will die.

hard on mum; she really needs to retire, but cant until he does

    cheers

I meet a couple of old farmers in my younger days in there 70s and 80s still running the farm. One was a guy named mick and his dad retired from the farm at 95 and six weekks latter died. his three older brothers had all retired at 70 and all within six months of retiring where decesed. He was 78 and i think he wanted to retire but was worried he would die if he did. But he didnt muck around and the rest of us had to work hard to keep up with him.
