Long sleeved hi vis shirts (jb yellow with black inserts) with vinyl printing with fxd shorts. never had an issue and I hate the heat. Shirts are a little costly but worth every cent over the cheaper ones ...they are a lot lighter and breathe better

Cool dry moisture wick shirts like this is what I use. Mine are fluro yellow with blue inserts with log on front left breast and writing on back. Brilliant shirts. They draw off the sweat and keep you cool. On really hot days you can wet them down to keep you cool and they will dry off quickly. Have both short and long sleeve

Maybe if you are sweating like a pig due to the poly not breathing and a bit of breeze comes along. I always thought cotton breathes easier.
I have both 100% cotton (Bisley) and 100% poly (Visitec). Have to cut the sleeves out of the cotton shirts up here in the humid tropics to get airflow. With the poly, yes it can stick to you and you do need a breeze for them to work, but I'm talking 80%+ humidity and mid to high 30's. I'd say the Southern Highlands would be way different to here climate wise ie. dry heat. Oh, and I prefer poly in the rain.
Thanks troppo. It is allot cooler down here than Cairns. We do get the extream heat in summer too.
Ive got both the cotton drill and the polly. just saw the yanks are wearing these dri fit shirts as their uniforms. and they are getting hammered with extream heat waves at the moment.

I use these. Have both long sleeve and short sleeve. The moisture wick is fanatastic when you sweat. Dries you off and cools you in no time

Don't let your parents, wife & kids watch you die of cancer, wear long pants, long sleeve shirts, hats and sun screen.
full pants and long sleeve shirts everyday, they are a basic requirement.
any hazard/risk assessment on out door activities would look at the sun and the risk of skin cancer. having a work uniform of short sleeves and short could see you sued for negligence if your workers get skin cancer. remember James Hardie, we all know the risk of skin cancer protect your workers.
Im sure even Dean's Work Health and Safety Management plan would require all workers to wear full cover uniforms, hats and sunscreen on you face neck and hands
