A cheap way of advertising for work. Didn't think this was legal with eBay however?

In case this isn't one of us I didn't want to give free publicity so you will need to cut and paste the link and substitute url where I have placed asterisks at start and end inside the square brackets.

Recently purchased a brand new stihl ms290 from ebay saving over $300 retail, the ebayer buys them direct from America and their looks to be a few sellers doing it.

no warranty i guess many can deal with but make sure its a genuine stihl.. some are pretty good copies especially if you dont have any other stihl stuff..... check this one out hmmmm....

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....#ht_500wt_1413

also i notice a lot of the new stihls on ebay are often superseded models (not necessarily a bad thing as long as you are aware)

That is a current listing of the exact thing I bought, I picked it up from his wife so its not like I bought from a faceless seller, I believe the saw is genuine, mine has a spark arrester not sure if the local ones do, will have to check next time im in.

Of course it does'nt have stickers refering to australian standards as its american emissions and standards, whats this part from the australian stihl site??

If a power tool that is not certified for use in Australia is deemed to be the cause of an
accident or incident, possible insurance claims may be made void
I reckon thats bullsh!t and nothing to be scared about, im sure the american built and certified stihl could be no worse than anything you could pick up from bunnings,

u.s and european certification are usually years ahead of australian standards anyway
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
