    Question backpack sprayers Sprayers.

I've been using a 4l spray bottle with a shoulder strap and it's only every had poison in it. It's getting a bit tired and not sealing or spraying as good as it used to so I'm thinking of replacing it.

I'm thinking I'll need two 15L back pack sprayers, one for growing stuff and one for killing stuff.

What do you guys carry? Any suggestions?

Ive got about five of the 5L Hozelock spray bottles. They are good for the price if you aren't doing too much spraying at each job. I have one for Glypho, one for broad leaf weeds, and one for insecticide/fungicides.
They normally last a good few years, then as they start to fail, I just grab another one and use the old for spares.

    They are about $35 each.

I got a 20 liter one off ebay for 30 lasted about 6 months then brought 2 more for 40 each sold one to vj and the other Im still using how much longer for i dont know. I spray the gardens on vertially every yard i do as part of my package. ive gone through 2 one liter bottles of unmixed round up a 5liter and now on to a twenty liter so as you can see they have sprayed a lot of poision i put 80 mil to 10 liters of water. made up 20 liters once but gee thats heavy.

My old Solo 485 spent the first 2 years of its life crashing through thick bush spraying bitou bush while contracted to council. Its never missed a beat - diaphram is still original after many 100's if not 1000's of litres of glyso through it. How many $200 products will stand up to that? money well spent.

I like my Shindaiwa SP415 backpack sprayer, never had any trouble with it, Solo is a great brand too. I'd really like the shindaiwa petrol powered model, good for spraying large areas & no sore arm

i use 6lt ones for everyday spraying i think there yates plassy brand great little sprayer but haven't seen them around for years and i have a cheap 16lt backpack [ i brought reduced to clear at kmart ] for the larger jobs i thought of going to solo or shindaiwa but decided that the amount of spraying i do wouldn't justify the cost i wouldn't use the backpack more than once a month and leave it in the shed unless i know i will need it
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
