There was a thread on here somewhere and a mower knicked their toe, they were singing the praises of steel caps.
you can get runners with a steel cap I have also tried some dunnyplops KT26 with the steel toe very comfy so comfy, but started to fall apart after 1 month and compltely useless after 2 months maybe a leather runner with a steel cap would hold up better.
There is alot of ooohing and aaahing about safety....thats the culture of the last 20 years and workplace safety catering to the lowest denominator. But common sense should be what prevails.
The problem there is that common sense is not that common anymore.
Just like the problem with reality.....not everyone wants to participate and has their own skewed view of it.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
When you cut your toes off or squash them, then tell us how wonderfully light your Addidas are!

Roger Wilco.
Please step down from your soap box and do your best to integrate with reality. Trolling on the net has become so passée.

Last month i sprained my ancle mowing a client's lawn. i was wearing steel capped boots. The slip on ones like the Blunstones.
Now im using G.P's ( Army boots) But they are so F*kn heavy.
What are the Red backs like? Or what's the chioice of boot in the industry?
Everything looks good with a haircut.... ɐuıɥɔ ɯoɹɟ pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐl ǝɥʇ sʇɐɥʇ
Just thought i was showing common sense. Imho if you want to wear runners while operating dangerous machinery you may as well just wear thongs. As for a soap box. Just giving an opinion and advising that your feet are very important tools. Read it any way you want.
As for trolling. My internet savvy brother just advised me that (trolling) is someone who trolls the internet to find someone to bag. I don't have the time and have better things to do.
My reality is, 20 acres to look after. An 8mth old child, a mortgage, single income family, 2x extra mouths to feed atm, being my brother and his young fella. Voracious ants forever eating the household wiring, let alone my cars and my kid.
Should i go on?
I know what my reality is.
Oliver boots are my choice. Comfy, wear well and handle the wet weather.

I have said it before but I love Mack boots. Steel capped of course but light. If you don't have steel caps then your not looking at reality because reality is you can chop your toes off with any number of tools we use.

Fair dinkum.
DO what you please....**** it wear thongs, but for chrisake dont dictate to others that they need to wear cast iron underpants "just in case"

Last pair of Mack boots i bought the soles parted after 6mths and the dude at the shop said i was lucky to get 6mths outa them. Apperently they,re now made in some third world country. Olivers were still made to a decent standard 1 yr ago. When i bought mine, although they will probably be outsourced to a cheaper labour market as time goes by.

My last 3-4 pairs of boots have been Redbacks and I love them. I get about a year out of them and I think they are pretty comfy once worn in which which will take a week or so. I normally wear them for half a day for the first few days until they soften up a little to stop from getting blisters. They are good value and I normally buy an extra pair of innersoles to throw in them at about the 6 month mark.
As for wearing sneakers when mowing for a living, you would have to be insane. It's not worth the risk. Apart from the safety aspect and the look of being professional with wearing boots, when mowing damp grass wouldn't your sneakers be soaked by the end of the 1st job?
