Default Customer contacts detail and questionaire

    Hi All,

Just wondering what people think of this idea.

When you obtain a new customer or even do a one of job for someone, give them a contact detail form. This form would be something like:

    Name
    Address
    Phone numbers
email (tick box if you would like a once a month "newsletter")

What are you gardening interests: (tick boxes)
veg garden, roses, water saving garden, water features, irrigation, other....................

    Thoughts???

Probably add in how they found you- Google, word of mouth etc.

Sounds good in theory but most of the customers i come across are in such a rush i couldn't imagine they would take the time to fill it out, but you never know until you try. Give it a go and let us know how you go.

I pretty much get all those details on first contact except for the interests part.

Can't hurt Jay, I'd add preferred method of communication ie: call, text, email, or whichever is easiest. Email is cheapest, text is next then calling, will it influence how much you quote?

why not just ask them for the details and how they got you ...probably is easier for you to fill the form out than annoy them ..they only want their lawn or garden done at the end of the day and probably are time poor so they really dont give a sh@t as long as the job is done to be perfectly honest

to ask how they got onto you verbaly no problem , but i dont think i would go as far as a questionaire , i know myself if a electrican - plumber etc turned up to my place and asked me to fill out a questionaire i would tell him to get stuffed and to do the job at hand or piss off
