Default Hi all a few questions

About to start my own mowing buisness but have a few questions if u please

Do most people like their lawns done with catcher and if so by push or rideon?

and what size zero turn is the best all round or are they of little use as most want it done with a catcher and access is a problem?

There are different markets. Most people want it caught if paying for it, but it depends on the client and also things like how thick the grass is, what type of grass, if the lawn is weedy or wet. There are zero turns of all sizes. The Walker machines come in small decks and have a catcher which is perfect for residential stuff. I think clients are a bit wary of having their lawns cut with a ride on though as they just have the old mentality that it has to be done with a push mower. The small Walkers are perfect for small lawns as the cut quality is the same as a pushie.

Paul it can be very different for many reasons!
Go for a drive around the suburb you are thinking of working and you will get an idea of what is happening.
I have some people who MUST have it caught.
Have others who just want it left .ie slashed but minority.
Have others who will allow me to use the Dixon ztr - mulch or slash.
Saying that the work i do is mostly grass and weeds, very few lawns.
Take a drive , talk to local lawnies etc

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum,

I've only ever driven through Dubbo but from my recollection it's a bit of both residential and acreage?? At a guess you're probably going to have to see which end of the market you're going to get into. If it's more of the residential stuff probably better going with a Self Propelled that can catch and mulch and if you're going for the bigger stuff then the zero might be just the thing you need.

    G'day Paul

Welcome to the forum. With all the rain you guys have had up there it will be a bumper year unless the locusts beat you to it and eat everything.
    Cheers
