"Success occurs when no one is looking, failure occurs when everyone is watching."
From my little research, group isnt the way to go. Groups are for like, causes or something where you have to keep many people up to date regularly. Something like that anyway??????
Heres what I read...

Also...
http://www.entrepreneur.com/ebusines...cle205406.html but I cant figure out which he says is best????
Anyway, Ive put together both a fan page and a group page and I could probably edit my "new" profile page to be a "Like" page.
My problem is that I doubt I'll add stuff to keep people looking. Anyway, its done now so see what happens.
I have my doubts about it lifting my website profile but its free so worth a shot!
What I am sure of is that its doing my head in!
Oh, heres my "Like" page! (for some reason my logo that I use on everything wont show up properly. Pic will do for now)

I have had a face book page for about 6 months now and not one job off it. I have tried running specials and still no response i gave up on it.

I did some reasearch a while ago on marketing the business and facebook came up as a very low medium so I dont bother.. Good old fashioned local paper and flyers seem to work the best ..I would not go looking for a lawnie on facebook I think its like looking for sandwich on hard core porno babes..

I think you have to encourage your friends to 'share' it on their profiles, so all of their friends see your business name. That may be 50-500 people that see your name depending how many friends each of them have. If a few of their friends also join who also have between 100 and 300 friends, then there is another 1500 people that will see your name. Then if anyone of them or someone they know needs some work done your name is in their head. Being a friend of a friend they may give you first shot at it. I was reading that people offer little incentives on Facebook, like if a friend refers two people, they get a gift voucher and things like that. I don't know if I'd bother with that, but it seems to work for some people.

You mean "friends" are having a look at your site?
Well that's what I don't know. Because it is a business page it doesn't have friends. All Google Analytic's is saying is that they were referrals from FB. Whether they came directly from my page or a link on someone else's who "liked" my page I don't know because I cannot drill down that far. But it is 4 visit none the less and they spent some time on my web page.

4 visits is definitely better than non!
I would say, if your getting people to "like" that are out of your circle of friends, then thats a good thing! Why would anyone join or like a gardening business group? Id say they'd be interested in gardening or on the hunt for a possible gardener.
But really, would you search for a mechanic on FB? Id be on google or the YP's!
Im trying to get my friends to join mine. My friends already know what I do, its there friends that Im after!
I really have my doubts about the benefits of FB as a service business like ours. But is free so no harm!
can't stand facebook, although i have a facebook page, but i won't let anyone be my friend, it's funny how people take offence to that.
