Looking for a walker mower in tasmania or victoria.
Business is getting bigger and need a mower. Would like a diesel, but petrol would do.

If all your jobs are to be caught, never get more than 2 inches long, and you have money to burn then a Walker is the perfect choice.
B.T.W. South Coast, I'm not actually saying Walkers are crap or mid-mounts are better it all depends on what kind of work you are doing and how much you are willing to spend.
If all my jobs were house blocks that got mowed every 2 weeks, the customers wanted a neat caught job, didn't mind paying extra for it and you never had to cut/catch wet grass then it would be very hard to go past a Walker (there I said it!). But unfortunately, there are people who let the grass get long and try to save money at my expense by mowing it less often. Up here in the tropics grass grows like mad in the wet season, and a Walker is next to useless in long wet grass (I'm talking knee high and longer), so that's why I have now gone the direction of Tilt Tray Truck, Tractor and Slasher for these jobs and charge people accordingly. If they don't like it there is the 3 magic words "Get someone else!".. I refuse to torture my gear to save some tight @r$e a few dollar$!!
But if a Walker does your work well then good for you.
Go one on the way, had to spent a little more then planed.
Thanks for the replys
Don't be so secrative Tassie!
What did you get?
To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Im hoping it will be a 2005 MDD (Diesel) with high lift and 48" cut.
The walker dealer in tassie is full of crap, that why lm hoping.
There was one advertised here on a local classifieds site, MDD, 2001, 48" GHS, $3500.00, I rang but it had already been snapped up.

Do you find the deck lift good. The first day we got it, we tried it and found it was very very stiff, after a few trys, it broke. I wasnt going to worry about it, but if it a handy thing to have, might have to have a look at it.
One bad think about the mower, it doesnt have the speed up. The school mower does, theres a very big different. When mowing an Ha oval, the school one mows about 3/4 and mine 1/4 for same time
