    Default rover/suzuki combo

I picked up an old one of clean up today, i had one years ago, great mower... super light reved hard and cut everything.
anyway i will fix it up and give it ago.
I am having a hernia op next week so i want something light to push while i heal (bloody hondas are to heavy).
thing is i cannot remember what the 2 stroke fuel ratio is.
    Anybody ????

I used to use one of those. It was 25:1, but with the new oils that are meant to use less it should be ok with 50:1

Suzi should get into the 4stroke mower market, their 4 banger outboards kick everyone else's arse.

    I'd stick with 25:1 myself

Yes red eye damn right there. 25:1 and use a filter funnel. I can't see how extra lubrication is going to be a problem especially if it has been sitting around for a while.

You will destroy a Victa 2 stroke on 50:1 that comes from personal experience.

suzuki stopped making 2 stroke mower engines as cost to much to comply with american pollution laws. rover then had either honda gcv190 (6.5hp) or b & s 6.5 hp motor.honda now been dropped as not selling as to dear.
when i buy new rover i get my shop to rip b&s off & put honda on.

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

I was in Cairns Mower City today and saw a Masport utility mower with a Suzuki 2 stroke on it. About 19 inch model, it didn't actually say Suzuki but it was definitely recognisable as a Suzuki motor. My neighbour has a Rover with a Suzi motor and has had it for years, very quiet.

well i stripped back the carbie, cleaned the muffler and electrics and put on a new ,plug and filter and throttle cable and away it went.
First day back after a hernia op and this little mower is a beauty, a bit smokey (2 stroke) but it revs high and cuts better than the honda, it slices through wire grass like its buffalo.
It is so light i could run around the yards (if i was able).
Down sides is a small catcher and it doesn't mulch, but it will gwt me through till i can push the honda again.
Its a shame They dont make em like this any more.
