Taking apart my echo blower because it was revving full - and I thought the wire bit that connects to the trigger was jammed or something.
Take the cover off then realise that the throttle lock was locked on full throttle!
I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE A LONG LONG SPRING!!!
When the deck belt on my JD ride on breaks with 10 minutes to go in a 2 hour mow. And to make it worse I hadnt bought a spare last time I replaced it, 2 1/2 hours later I finished the job.
Mowing is just un-skilled labour ?
I agree that any moron can push a mower around but to do a good job of it and do it quick enough that you can earn a living out of it is a whole different kettle of fish ! This story reminds me of a commercial place that I used to do. They couldn't be bothered to inter-lock the pad locks so that I could actually get in to do my job (happened more than once), and I had to chase them up to get money out of them on more than one occasion. The boss had the arrogance to tell me that my service was lousy and I let the grass get too long. I told him that I work as fast as I get paid so if you make me wait, I'll make you wait. Anyhow he got someone else or does it himself but the place looks absolutely terrible compared to how I used to maintain it, so that just proves my point about mowing being skilled labour.

Bloody useless offsiders. Gone through another one. Asked for the day off last Friday and didn't turn up for work on Monday. No phone call no nothing. I gave him a job as a favour to his Mum who is a friend of my daughters. She is livid with him. Turns out the work is too hard for him so he took a lower paid job. Nice of him to tell me. That is what annoyed me about it. This right when I needed him most. The phone and web page are running hot this week. Work is out there and now I am without him. But I have made a decision not to replace him. Too much hassle with offsiders. Going to go back solo for awhile. Just have to pick the jobs a bit better.
Cheers

I had an offsider for the last 3 years, but decided this year to go solo, and so far my profit margins are about the same, so not sure if it is worth the headaches of not having them turn up, being on there back all the time, etc. I'll see how I go this spring, and may stay solo.
I made a definite decision to stay a 1 man show a long time ago with NO regrets
Ive been grumpy for a few days because of this... (the little black dot)
Went to Dr yesterday arvo where they rolled my eyelid back and picked it out with a needle. Was about 1.5mm long.
I think it was a seed that was kicked into the air and got around my glass's. It didnt come flying off anything. It must of been in my eye floating (scratching) around and got lodged by blinking.
Just one of those things!
When the Saturday newspaper delivery get stuffed up for the 3rd week in a row.
Get a phone call Saturday morning for a feral front yard mow and trim. Go and quote within an hour and get the job straight away. Was being slack and didn't check some long grass before running the mower off of it. Took the top off of the water meter. Rang SA Water this morning and they think I am up for around $200 at least. Now I will always check before just running the mower through.
