She feels ripped off coz she's always been sunsmart, where as I am on the other hand, a dill.
She will now be extra vigilant, although in the clear, the chances of another will increase.

I've been trying to build up a run from nil since Jan in Eastern suburbs Melbourne. Had some great referrals from other indys, but otherwise its been damn slow. One or two inquiries per thousand leaflets and thats all. The local papers are full of gardeners and its expensive. Three enquiries,(One Indian, one chinese.. the $50 minimum sorted them out) one job.
Back in the country half my enqiries were for fortnightly mows - in Melb its 100% one-off, end-of tenancy, doggy, waist-high, branch-strewn war-zone yards that people want done for a 6-pack.
Everywhere I look I see guys with mowing trailers. The guys that have been doing it for 10 years seem to have more work on than they can cope with, and the newbies are struggling.
I switch on the radio and every week they announce another closure of a factory or bank and redundancies.. you just know half those guys will take their redundancy - say stuff you, I've hated every minute of the last 20 years- and go out and buy a trailer and a brushie, stuff their old victa in tha back and get some cards printed.
No-one's hiring back in my old game either, with a round of job shedding in both Fed and State govt. Its looking damn grim.
Kids need new shoes, and these teenagers eat like horses. Anyone want to buy a 06 Navarra?

Porridge? Nah. I've just hear a lot of old jokes from a lot of old jokers... Lodge is like that sometimes.
Hi Tom,
I have started up same time as you and now up to 90 sumthing clients. I'm getting around 1 enquiry in every 35 houses.
Not sure what your currently using as your flyer... or if you test and measure your results from different flyers but I suggest you have a good offer and target the clientelle in the suburb you want
Maybe you can PM Stump or other members in Melb how have good marketing idea's... he has some great tips and i assume not far from you so knows the local market also
Sounds like something needs to change... and its almost always our marketing and advertising efforts which is the life blood to any business success.
Chin up... i know you will work it all out.
Simmo.
Hi Simmo
Wow.. you are doing 30x better than me at marketing!
Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe an offer is the way to go.
