Matt I would have asked him why he is no longer a contractor. Went broke no doubt

Well we are a service. As are doctors, lawyers, mechanics, politicians etc. All jobs have their stresses else they wouldn't make money. Can't expect to win them all. I am not in the least bit surprised that people would be offfended by the hourly rate we need to charge to survive . As dean said in his book, anyone can a mow a lawn but not everyone can run a lawn mowing business. Ther eis more to making money though, a balanced lifestyle being one of them.

Explaining to customers that 6 weekly cuts, are not considered regular in SPRING
Neither is, "put ya mower on its lowest setting and come back in a month
I know they are common annoyances and have been whinged about before, just not by me lol
Had to do a hedge today. Got the multi tool out and fired her up no prob. Wont rev. WTF...check throttle cable. Looks ok. Not busted. Trigger feels funny. Ok lets take off the trigger assembly. Bugger it is a torx head and I dont have it. Really need to do this hedge today. Took me hand held hedger out weeks ago. Never used it. Idiot. Thank christ not far from home. Go home. Cant find me torx set....hmmmm.......thats right son borrowed it and it hasnt come back. He is miles away. Go buy a torx set. Disassemble the trigger grip and find broken trigger. Cracked in half. How the hell did I do that. Go to mower shop. They have one you beauty $7. Go home and fit it and get back on the road and go do the job. Still dont know how I broke it. Moral of the story dont lend son tools

Day after posting how good the Makita whippies are and how they always start first go and every, 1, 2, 3 , 4 .....10 pulls, no go. What's happened, that's right 5 minutes earlier the whippy fell from the side of the trailer on to the road (not that hard). Look at the spark plug, its shattered. The lead also has been hit hard enough so its come out of the rubber thing that holds it all together, had to wait till I got home to fix it, there was a little spring clip in there that clips on to the plug that was never designed to come out. Murphies law.
My second last job of the day I was blowing the footpath in a street where their all in competition with each other. A lovely lady starts walking across the road towards me holding a Makita Blower that she couldn't start. I look at the choke/bulb stuff and started it first go. A not so grumpy Makita story.
Cheers Garry
Well I'll be rooted, now the friggen cox ride on is playing up. The accelarator pedal feels sluggish especially in reverse 2 days after I give it a rap on this board, that's the last time I am ever positive about anything on this board.
Hey Bluey I was in at my local mower repair shop the other day and there was a contractor there waiting to pick up his multi tool, the owner does all the hard repairs and his wife, who is Thai does all the easy repairs, just then his wife walks out with the multi tool and hands it to the contractor and says "It was da Park Pug"
Well I thought it was funny
split and took a chunk out of the mulchmaster, not too impressed (new one is about $1300) have to see if it can be welded?
