Cold call from a lady yesterday looking for a new contractor after her current contractor dropped her which went like this..
She says, “Hi, I’m after a quote for regular lawn maintenance including dog poo pick up..”
I says, “Sure, lawns I’ll have 2 see to quote & dog poo pick up is $100 per turd plus GST ”
She says, “ Thanks for your time”

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
I've calmed down enough to be civil about it; I was in the traffic driving down Grand Junction Rd at Holden Hill at about 10.20am yesterday & a contractor started whipper snipping a few tufts of brown weeds in the grey gravel out the front of a strata (I know the street number of the strata). If you're reading this, you sprayed stones over my Ute, the car in front of me, the car in the lane next to me, the car behind me & who knows who else! My Ute has numerous stone chips in the paint & windows from your complete lack of thought. You were less than 2 metres from a busy main road, shooting stones everywhere off the end of your whipper snipper line. No signage out & no guard on your whipper. I got a real good look at you & my first thought was to report you to Safework SA & if I ever see you doing that again, I will. If you had hit a pedestrian/cyclist/motor cyclist to results could have been catastrophic. I urge you to go & get some training on how to remove a few tufts of weeds from gravel. I would have just pulled them out by hand.
It took a LOT of effort not to go back, but I was extremely wound up & would have gotten myself into a lot trouble if I did. I even considered following up who the strata manager is & tackling it from that end, thereby getting him booted from their preferred contractors list. If the guy that did it is reading this, think that over for a while!
