    One Word... Labor

No Incentitive to work, No Incentitive to work hard... sums it up. Apparently It's the only way you can control the masses with everyone being equal.

Did someone order a carbon tax

    TIMES 2 for me Simmo,

I grew up in a time of no Gov handouts and you worked damn hard for what you needed to enable one to spend for ones basic needs.
The ones who relied on handouts where the ones that bought foil for needs other than cooking.
With between 18 to 13% interest rates back then. Never did I expect a Gov a handout to survive or put a deposit on ahouse.
Too many many handouts for tooo many reasons these days with a culture of the young expecting it all without the hard work.
Sick of how many times my daughters referenced why so and so got a Rav 4 for nothing from their parents. Whilst my daughters got a % towards their first car and dad paid for their first bingle to stop an insurance claim rise for their under 25 apprenticeship. No thanks, just a expectation these days.

Never have like the word Centrelink in a sentence, sorry if I offend.
    Cheers Garry

you can "claim" anything you feel like - but its when you get AUDITED the whiffer hits the fan - then you have to DEFEND everything you claimed, going back 5 years.

dont get trapped - its YOU not your accountant who will be in the ****e - look at the small print on what you sign with your accountant, YOURE always responsible for any deductions.

advice is just that, worth the paper its written on.

    I agree with you 110%...

Getting a competent Accountant who is qualified and up to date with current law in tax minimisating and deductions in each industry is what usually makes all the difference.

There is definately a legal way to doing it... to many corporates are imo "stupidly" promoting that they are doing it for there management and employee's etc... I don't think they would want to draw any unneccessary attention from ATO if it wasn't allowed.

I guess the best tip is to speak to a few different accountants who look after tradies! Big difference from a multi-national to a sole trader

Office b!tc#es who think they are the C.E.O. !!

Not being ***ist at all but when Women have a job where they can tell men what to do some of them have a massive power trip and become completely unreasonable. DO THIS, DO THAT, I WANT THIS DONE, THIS ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.

    I told her,

"You're behaving as if you are paying me out of you're own pocket".
I do this particular job subcontract and the amount of money I get is nowhere near enough for what they want done so I keep on telling them,
"If you pay peanuts you get monkeys, more work = more time = more money"
For some reason they can't seem to grasp this concept, probably because it isn't them who have to work in the hot sun and actually do it.

Everybody is entitled to MY opinion

Just give them a new quote with the additional work they want done, at a much higher price of course, that will either shut them up or make them realise. If that doesnt work, you dont want the,

Got a client who is in the roofing game to come and quote rebedding/pointing/guttering and fixing a few leaks - the wife wants is cleaned and sprayed a pretty color also.

Anyway checking over the extended area flat roof he shows me all the problems that will show up in the next few years or so.

So about 5 grand later we decide on a plan of attack with me helping as a 3rd person. And that is at mates rates!!!!

You know what, you are absolutely right! That is exactly what I will do. Only problem is that I am a sub-contractor and I get what I am given, but next time I go there I will quote on all the other things that they want done and submit it, at least they will know how much it will cost to get the work done that they require.
