TIMES 2 for me Simmo,
I grew up in a time of no Gov handouts and you worked damn hard for what you needed to enable one to spend for ones basic needs.
The ones who relied on handouts where the ones that bought foil for needs other than cooking.
With between 18 to 13% interest rates back then. Never did I expect a Gov a handout to survive or put a deposit on ahouse.
Too many many handouts for tooo many reasons these days with a culture of the young expecting it all without the hard work.
Sick of how many times my daughters referenced why so and so got a Rav 4 for nothing from their parents. Whilst my daughters got a % towards their first car and dad paid for their first bingle to stop an insurance claim rise for their under 25 apprenticeship. No thanks, just a expectation these days.
Never have like the word Centrelink in a sentence, sorry if I offend.
