    got another winge.
ran into a mum of a teenage student at our karate club this morning. this young fella has such bad posture and poor body strength that when he started with us he was unable to stand 5 minutes without resting his arms on his legs to support his back. he can now stand properly for the entire 1 1/2 hr class, do pushups, sit ups etc .
i asked if he had been sick as we hadnt seen him for a few weeks. the mum flabbergasted me by saying " oh i dont like going out in the evenings in winter". the lazy cow is too crap to bear driving 5 minutes in the cooler months so that her son can attend a class that he was really enjoying and getting loads out of.
i know it takes all sorts of people to make a world but a few less of her type wouldnt hurt

Kathryn I know what you mean, I coach a netball team and the number of times kids don't turn up cos it's raining or cold is annoying, the kids aren't learning anything and if I can turn up and walk the boundary without an umbrella and all the kids and umpires can play in the rain, why is it so hard for the parents to stand with an umbrella?

We've had to forfeit games because parents don't like to come out in the wet and we haven't had enough to field a team. That punishes those that do turn up, the opposition and the club gets fined.

I am so sick of princesses. I came home today looking like a drowned rat and haven't been able to get warm since but when you're part of a team you act like it and seriously if you don't like the cold, don't play a winter sport!

She didnt have to stay, just drop off, pick up. Its galling as this student has major physical difficulties and we were really seeing some great improvement. A 5 yr old had better coordination than him when he started.
I hope your getting warmer jo

and when the kids turn out to be unmotivated, unemployable brats the parents will blame society because they've done so much for them it can't be their fault

Trying to trench through this makes me grumpy! It has taken me 5 days to do about 200m, when I could normally do that in a day if it's just hard clay.

Yeah I put in my quote the price will vary if rock is encountered. The landscaper will be on site sometime this week and once he sees it we will have a chat. The plumber was telling me an 8 tonne excavator struggled to get through the next part I have to do.

The sort of day I've had makes me grumpy. Come home to try and change a throttle cable now outside in the cold. Come in to make a cup of coffee - went to put the teaspoon of coffee into the cup and bam, coffee everywhere on the counter. Friggin cup was upside down wasn't it......

Pretty much sums up the last few weeks for me.

    Thats a bugger Geoff.
I can recall a story about a guy who fed a small tree trunk through a chipper.
The tree trunk had grown around a horse shoe........... ouch!
    Cheers Fred.

horse shoe in a chipper now that wood equal big dollars in repairs ... as for my chain ,yeh not good but there the breaks .... sure the shop will be able to clean the chain up = its running factory stihl full chisel chain that it came with but i think a semi chisel chain would be better suited to the hard wood keep the cutting edge better and sharper also not so aggresive in its cut , will ask my mate at the shop what he thinks ..
    cheers
