The LABOUR govt in SA. I get that we are in the wrong but that does not mean we should be handed this. Just fixed our spare run around and left it in the driveway, wife took it for a drive not knowing it wasnt registered and gets busted by the cops. The cops were nice about it and all thats not the problem. The problem is the $1400 fine attached. WTF this really sh*ts me off to no end. We are normal law abiding citizens and make one simple mistake and instead of being nicely told and punished for a simple mistake we get handed a ridiculous overstated fine.

The fine is worth more than the car!

THIS IS BLATANT MONEY RAISING BY THE LABOUR GOVT!

Just because they waste tax payers money on things we simply do not need and give themselfs pay rises and put our state in a huge debt whilst everyone else is struggling DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY CAN JUSTIFY A RIDICULOUS RISE IN FEES AND FINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Take off the extra $1000 and the left over $400 is reasonable.

I think ill be charging $250 an hour now because apparently we can charge what ever we want.

SM, this is to try and stop people driving unregistered vehicles on the roads, we have the same sort of fines here, plus they take the plates and you have to get it towed to home or were you are going to get work done it. If she had thought quick she could have said she was taking to your local mechanic to get a rego done, they would have followed her there and made certain she left it there it could have possibly saved a fine

In Victoria you would still need a short term permit that costs $70 to take it for a roadworthy,if it was out of rego.
We do not have all the silly coloured slips that you have in NSW though. Just registration. We only need a roadworthy if buying a second hand car. None of this once a year crap. Thats a rip off.

I can understand if i was doing 140kmh in a 60kmh zone but bloody hell, the stupid thing is the cop said he hates giving them out because he knows the fines are rediculous!!!!! We made a mistake fair enough but lets not go to jail over it..............were turing into america and thats not a good thing

Don't know about that courty, got a guy down here who's got a small trailer hitched up to his pushie, does a roaring trade, probably does a couple of lawns a day, end of the week he's probably got enough for a carton of west end draught, and a 50 pack of holiday gaspers

A pink slip is required in NSW for every vehicle over 3 years old which in my opinion is a great idea... It makes sure cars have acceptable tyres, brakes, indicators, lights, window whipers etc. Its $30 for the mechanic to check and do a on road brake test.

I didn't realise it wasn't required in Mexico...

And all the associated costs of passing.Bugger forking out for a new windscreen because of a tiny chip etc. There are not many heaps on the road down here. Blue slip, Pink slip, Green slip......pffft.

Well according to Gina Rinehardt we should be spending more time working and less time drinking to get ahead .... but being the daughter of a multi millionaire certainly helps.

There is a guy up here with a trailer behind his bike has a honda 216 in it and a honda snipper rides around mowing yards. Pulled up and chatted with him one day he is a kangaroo short in the top paddock and one of the goverments agencys that look after those people organised the mower and sniper for him he charges $30 a lawn and said he does three or four a day. Not bad for some guy that would otherwise be relying on centrelink payments. Good on him i reckon.
