Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
Yep did that. They brought out two more to our house All have similar dints from the machine that handles them to pack them apparently. We picked the best of teh bunch but it still has slight dints.
Sorry in advance to anyone on the forum who falls in this category, but I am sure that as you are a forum member this comment wont apply.

Customer says trim that tree down to fence height
Then once done says, "I was shocked when i walked out and I could see right through into the neighbours yard"...
....Nothing like a good whipper....
Was that a 40mm hitch? My Subaru Outback has that style and of course they cost $140 a pop, we got the towbar fitted and I removed hitch and presumably put it in the shed but I never found it again, needless to say I dont really want to fork out another $140 for a hitch buy I might have to.
If anyone needs hitches let me know as I 'might' be able to help. I know a guy in Bris who works for a Hayman Reese distributor and also know well the guys at the local TJM store when I did a bit of retail work for them in Winter 2011.

Unless this is a wrecker this makes you think some people are doing this to make a few dollars in their spare time......
European Wasp Stings.
Brushcutting a vacant block this afternoon when I'm suddenly surrounded by hoards of angry Euro wasps. They were streaming out from the ground where I'd just made a sweep with the brushie.
They were very agro and I beat a hasty retreat (they followed me) but I still got stung about six times.
Hurt like hell and I can still feel discomfort from some of the stings.
Good job I'm not allergic to them or otherwise I may have been in a bit of trouble by now.

Yeah, Clients don't realise.. I'm beginning to understand that success is all about client management and psychology. I always ask what the client wants when pruning: opening up the yard and letting more light in? Or making it tidy? or keeping it green? (People want hedges cut back severely but are shocked the interior is a bundle of sticks) I ask especially if preserving their privacy is important to them when negotiating trimming height, unless it would mean cutting above 3 metres( my hedge max) The other trick is asking people to come and inspect after the cutting is done but I havn't loaded and there is an impressive amount of green waste on the deck: they feel they have had good value. Compressed onto the trailer its not as impressive.

I agree... you need to know what problem you are trying to solve... therefore you need to work as if youre in the clients shoes!
The only way to find these answers is by taking the time to ask the questions and completely understanding the task at hand. I don't prune, cut or do anything to tree's for this reason... When it comes to hedging that can be complicating enough (cut to low, to thin, not high enough, not thin enough, not rounded but oval, not oval but rounded, not square but tapered, not tapered but square and the list goes on). I do offer hedging but very selective now... I only do one's that i have time to do or previously done before (usually only for mowing clients) i make sure 100% we both understand what is required and what will be performed.
