I dont work Sundays unless I have to catch up. But I do have a couple of mates I do their lawn/Garden and in return they throw a BBQ and beer on. and then the rest of the crew turn up and we have a jam while the woman do girl stuff. This is a regular thing just gotta watch how many beers I have driving home. There has been the odd occasion where I collect the ute and trailer the next morning

For me , I work almost every weekend for my diverse higher paying commercial clients who provide much of my income and across winter as they require a quality presented premises year round, ie lawns/gardens.
Forcing myself to have tomorrow OFF for a chill out which is good as I worked through Easter except for Good Friday including the week prior.
Must say I generate more income over the weekend and it continues across the years seasonable slow down period with the commercial clients being Platinium clients.
Guess my old 24/7 career imbedded the thought train that working weekends is OK, so I'm totally comfortable with it.
Although I choose my own working hrs and span of hrs on the weekend now, so it's eggs, bacon & coffee before I head out and home in time for the last footy match.

Some will say the hell with weekends, but the bank balance is where it needs to be for the coming winter to enjoy life through it.

So flexible is life now with a roster that one self prepares with a white out pen for unexpected social engagements.
    Cheers Garry

Amazing, i had a good 1 man pest control setup from 1988-2002, then the divorce thing hit and the rest is history(*****..lol) . , BUT the amount of enquiries and leads you guys get are amazing, when the "pi55 of notice" from my employer comes in i'm gonna be out there and into it, #1...i will not be an el-cheapo, i need to make after expenses at least 3-400 a day, i was doing this in pest control without termite work ages ago, i think after a settling in period and getting my name out there i'll kick ass, my phone enquiry conversion was about 80%, maybe i'm kidding myself, but thats the target, fyi, i was a big time advertiser in the yellow pages in my region, golly gosh, the amount of calls it generated was incredible, mainly one off's but bulk, ....then the winter comes along,....slower than a snail...rambling on a bit here....you's know how it is......got some great smiley's here, btw...lol.

Dont knock it, I still get a number of calls from my free ad in the yellow pages, but most are via the web site, rather than the physical book.

i also get some calls from my free ad i was more trying to put the "i was a big time advertiser in the yellow pages in my region, golly gosh, the amount of calls it generated was incredible" in perspective with regards to the current times

Grumpy? Last week's messy weather around here.

Grumpier? Forecasts that are not much more accurate than playing darts at the watering hole... six schooners in.

Happy? The forecasts were utter sh17e. The weather ahead looks just fair enough that we can be good to our clients.

Best wishes to everyone for a happy and safe week.

    Cheers - GardenGuy.

It makes me grumpy when you already have a bulging work load and it rains! I had my casula do a heap of catch up work for me yesterday and then had a 9m3 mulch job booked for my best client today but the bloody rain is here, again. I need a beer to drown my sorrows!!!!

I wouldn't mind so much if it would rain properly. Been passing showers here for the last few days. Start work and before long you are soaked. Call it quits and come home and sun is shining again. Start work again, and another shower will come over & soak you again. Luckily the grass isn't growing so fast now so an extra week won't be a catastrophe.

And the other problem besides getting wet is that the grass gets wet and then doesn't cut as well or as easily and it takes longer

Grumpy? Awesome weather on the weekend and the week ahead is forecast as high probability of 10-20mm almost every day.

Can we vote for 50 mm rain, every Sunday night, after 9 pm?

    Cheers - GardenGuy.

    Gday Ian,
I was mowing in the rain on friday & was noticing how well the mower was catching(procut 560), really no difference what so ever(probably was taking it a little bit easier tho'), I was pleasantly surprised(probably should put it in "what makes me happy!"), however catcher was loosely packed instead of tightly packed & it was a hell of a lot harder to empty it.
    What mower you using?
