lol, hung up on him, thats what i do to those bu**&^rs too, lol

pretty soon, i wont even talk to the ones wanting work done, as i identify them as being the pitas every time. ("isn't it?")

but i'd charge $320 just for the 4 hours travel mate - youre working for free

no i never take deposits for mowing and triming work, but i do on the work from my old business, which is a big cost item - i wont have em cancelling on me from buyers remorse with THAT business.

suggest you dont travel 2 hours to do quotes, mate, WOW.

i only do quotes in the area im working in, so if i lose it i havent got much invested in the job.

yep, things slowing down here a bit too, thank heavens, but ive got so much work up the wazoo, i need the breather (got 5 gutter cleans stacked up waiting to happen since it was raining on and off 2 weeks ago, should be able to fit them in next week.)

cheers, and better luck next time.

I always love it when extremely rich people make statements like this and virtually say money doesn't matter that much but they never seem to hand what they have out to others
And I always love it when extremely poor people make statements like this and virtually say money does matter that much but they never seem to have anything to hand to others

To say rich people don't contribute in society is utter crap... For example, Henry Ford has employeed more families than a poor person ever will! He paid above award wages, and set up the franchise system as we know it today (car dealerships)... How many people does this employ?

Then there is his personal wealth... it would be made up of property (housing for people), share market (helping other businesses grow to employ more staff) and alot more other things that benefit society, organisations (to give back to the community).

Ian, you clearly don't understand the statement... we have had the discussion before about "customers come before the profit" and you value profit before a customer.... and that is good for you.

I have also mention earlier, that money isn't real... but everyone focuses on it... everyone that focuses on money is focusing on nothing (an illussion)! What you maybe thinking about when thinking of money, might actually be "currency" that you are after Even still, this isn't wealth in my opinion (if you want i can provided my reason's why).

It's interesting 99% of the population is either struggling or broke... all working to make money which is an illusion and a way to control the society

Maybe you can research Independent and interdependence... As we all know, in society, we all work together for mutial benefit. As an individual, you can make as much as you can work... there is no leverage. Wealthy people, are interdependent and utilise the skills of people to help assit them to help society.

Take this site for example... Dean has generously given us the opportunity to "help each other" through interdependence... he inturn is "attracting" wealth to his business... People pay for good and services "through using currency" to get information, insurance, parts etc.

Do you think Dean now needs to line your pockets? Well, i for 1 don't... he has provided me the skills, knowledge to earn my own income.

Same Goes for Jim's mowing... Jimbo' is solely responsible for helping "thousands" of families which inturn, helps 100's of thousand home owners in Australia. I'm not saying i fully agree with him model being the best solution... but you can't deny the interdependence he uses is better than what you and I are currently doing independently!

I choose to also "help" other business owners starting out and growing... I choose to do this to create Interdependence in my world... have i mastered it... Not even close... will I? that is up to me and the choice i make.

Again... I suggest everyone reads the book i mentioned before!

We aren't robots, we can make a choice in life... You can agree with your current autobiography, or open your mind and gain knowledge that can help your family, friends, community, country and world.

Look at facebook (now i don't use it personally) but is one of the wealthiest businesses in the world... why? In my mind it's a simple concept that helps billions of people across the world to connect. really simple stuff!

Microsoft and Apple is the same... they connect and help more people in the entire world... the more people you help, the more you will make... You are paid in the direct proportion to the amount of people you can help.

Can you do all this all on your own? Yeah, why would you....there GREEDY weathy people aren't they!!!! lol

There is always 2 sides to every coin... To some people, that is wrong and to some that is right... to a knowledgeble person that is called a different perception... you accept it's not wrong or right, it's only opinions that skews a point of view.

Do you think people that commit crimes "to our local society standards" are doing something wrong in there belief systems?

Also, if an individual steals equipment to make a living... is it wrong?

I'm not sure where your going with this??? What is wrong in one country is acceptable and a norm is another... want me to provide examples??? I can't judge why some people do thinks that are against the law... my conscience is different to the other 7 billion in the world!

I know America and Australia is technically "stealing oil" from other countries (they call it welfare in exchange for oil) is that wrong? Well, it might be when they caused that in the first place... depends what side of the fence you are sitting on! Maybe that is just my opinion?

On my final note... I stand by my statement...

the most important thing is to improve ones self though self development... and to make your "own choices" and not base choices on what society thinks is right or demands what is right.

BTW AJD (Dean)... I know Ian wanted another book lol

And it is been blisss since you gave people the instructions for the Ignore button Ian... No nonsense for 24 hours has been great lol Glad to see you still love me

so you're of the opinion Henry Ford did all this with no thought to making money or gaining power for himself
i also don't understand why you seem to think everyone but yourself thinks wealthy people are greedy?
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

actually my point was that from a business perspective there really is no point in having a customer if they are not generating a positive return(profit) if you want to go and mow lawns for someone for cost of materials or free of charge that's your choice,i would rather have 10 clients that provide me and my family enough to live on than 500 clients and starving

He didn't do it to make money... READ HIS QUOTE, Reasearch the terminology of money vs currency vs wealth! Everyone goes to work for money and most have never learnt the true definitions.

My opinion is he became a pioneer to make a difference for humanity and to create wealth for his family and those who impacted his life along the way... To be honest, i haven't red alot about henry ford indepth...

Usually when people create things from scratch there is no value associated to it... Infact, it is usually a liability (time and monetry). it's only once the product or service is fully established and accepted in society that you can place a value on in (or profit if you want to think it) For example did the inventors who created...electricity, phones, cars, planes, trains, PC, FACEBOOK, GOOGLE etc to profit or to provide a solution? Initially, they didn't make a cent.... so customer comes first (or society) and then profit (wealth).

I honestly can't explain this any clearer. If you still don't understand or accept why ALL wealthy people say this... then research it with an open mind (self development).

Creating stories in our heads based on our past experience or limited knowledge is one of the greatest problems of why people don't grow and are stuck with their current mindset... this usually causes frustration, depression, anger, regret, malice acts, Greed, corruption, broken relationships etc. some of the things that are wrong in society today.

So i will ask you this question... who said anyone has to go and mow a lawn at cost? You have created this story that there needs to be a choice of one over the other. Your logic is, if you put the customer first, they aren't going to pay you a positive return (profit).

Why is your example, 10 people can provide you a survive, but 500 clients will make you stave? It's Your thinking! If you can survive with only 10 customers... why cant you then profit on the other 490?

Why do we put "lids" on our potential... we tell ourselves, we can only earn X amount... I can tell you why! You earn what you do because that is the value that you accept in your mind.

Take this industry, Most value there time at $60p/h from my research... however, an Aborist values their time at $200 p/h.

I can almost Guarantee that there are people mowing lawns that can make $200p/h. I will agree it would need to be "sold" to the client in a different way than the person that sells a $60 p/h mow... It takes Knowledge to demand your price!

A lowballer only quotes $30p/h as they know no better... don't you honestly think they would charge $200p/h if they had the knowledge. Now knowledge could be as simple as demographics, demand vs supply, niche market etc.

I also laugh when people say they prefer to have lifestyle over money... What a stupid statement... who say's you need to choose one over the other! An uneducated person that's who! I would perfer to be broke and spend quality time with my kids... Insane statement to make. If you want to be broke, that's fine... that's a great way to do it.

If you want finacial interdependence for you and your family and spend time with them... you need to leverage your time and get people to work for you in exchange of income for there family!

You can have a good business, good relationships, good materialistic objects, good deeds... It is only your mind that will determine if it is possible or not.... You do not need to choose one over the other! If you have the knowledge, then you are able to create whatever you dream off.

I know when i become passionate, i don't even think about money... it's interesting how wealth usually follows success!

I also think i need to explain some of the basics of employment...

Job = dependence... reliant on someone to pay you a wage.
self employed = independence... reliant on making a wage for yourself.
business owner/Entrepenuer = interdependence... reliant on working with employee's to make a wage and profit.

It's amazing that most people that spend time studying only do so, to get a job. Why does education usually stop after getting a job?

I know why... because universities don't know how to teach a self employee or business owner how they need to think! And it's also amazing that most self employed people stop at independence but remain broke.

The only logical solution is continous self development in the area's of your life that matters most! For me... this is health, family and wealth.

    I hope that makes sense...

    Simmo.
