Wash day is Saturday,
House was broken into last night and stuff stolen. Im a patient person, whoever done it had best wish for the cops to catch them before I do otherwise they will need a coroner instead.
I dont break things ...I just use them beyond their operational limitations

I just got my car insurance renewal notice. Because I'm such a good valued client with several policies with them & a "Rating 1 for Life", it's a mere $927.
I just got a quote online from the same company for the same cover on the same vehicle, and the quote was $672.
Rain. It should rain every day between sundown and midnight to leave the lawns dry.
Losing regulars to mongrels who underquote.Someone else must be working for pennies.. I don't see how thay could do these jobs for less.
People who drag you out do do a quote when they are not at all serious about having the work done.
All the enquiry is for one-off ferals, hardly picking up a regular clent this spring.
Weeding.

I bought a brand new Ariens 42" ZTR 18 months ago. As mower it's great but a couple of months after I bought it it started being intermittently hard to start....it floods, starts on one cylinder and then chugs up to full revs. I got a 3 year warranty with it. As it's intermittent it's a bit hard to troubleshoot but I've had it back to the dealer half a dozen times. Last time they put a new fuel solenoid in (at a cost of $240.....apparently the fuel system is not covered by warranty) which made no difference at all....in fact it's getting worse. I had a dummy spit at the dealer today saying I'm pretty crapped off considering this has been happening since it was two months old, and now they expect me to pay $240 for a part that didn't fix the problem. Every time they get it I lose it for 3-4 days. On top of that we've had no rain and I'm still mowing 4-5 weekly.....i.e. I'm earning bugger all money. I expect this over winter but this is the 2nd year in a row the lack of rain has caused a winter frequency to extend by a few months. Seriously thinking about giving it away (selling it actually....lol).
Name and shame stores that do this to contractors... keep them honest ;-)

Might be worth going straight to the manufacturer, Blacktop. The mower shop dont give a rats, they are getting money to fix it. Id go to the source. You not being happy with them on a lawnmowing forum is not to fabulous for their business. Id use that angle if you have to. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Problem with going to the manufacturer is.....which one, the mower manufacturer or the engine manufacturer. There's an invisible line through the middle.....on one side is Ariens and the other is Kohler.......and in the middle is a heap of grey area stuff. Are electronics part of the engine....or the mower. Kohler won't warranty any part of the fuel system components because they have no control over the quality of fuel you use.
I know its a pain in the ass, but it could be worth calling both. Worst case senario, they both say they cant help. Anything else that happens is better than where you are right now. If you dont ask, you dont get!
Just sh!ts me that you are not at fault, but you are the one losing money on it because of shoddy workmanship. Most of us have travelled that road at one stage or another. We live in a half-ass world.
Paul, ring the Australian supplier and complain, then try and document what has happened and when and forward this to their customer service dept and then follow up with a few more phone calls. If you still don't get any response then threaten to go to Consumer Affairs. The more you complain the more notice they will take, just don't get abusive. When talking to the Customer Service persons just keep your voice at the one level, no raising your voice, very hard to do but it does work at getting you some help. Check and see if their is a Facebook site for the Dealer and the Supplier, if so give them a few weeks to sort out otherwise go onto Facebook and start bagging them out this will get you some action.
Its been a tough couple of years thats for sure! Ive had my own issues with the Super Z which hasnt help one bit, so I feel your pain!
Maybe take it to another mechanic and see what they think. Sometimes warranty isnt worth the paper its written on as they'll find ways of getting out of it. I personally believe that you buy the entire machine, not the parts.
If my hydros failed, Id take it to the dealer and expect them to sort it. They didnt make the hydro pumps etc but they put it on there machine, same as the engine.
That said, If your loosing money from down time, it may be worth spending the dollars and getting it sorted elsewhere to get it up and running asap. Its all well and good complaining but it may take to long for anything to actually happen, and in the mean time your loosing money that you wont get back.
Id even go far as pricing a new engine etc.
Can you take some video of the problem. Could show the dealer, put it on youtube etc.
had some "issues" with my ride on last spring.
Engine manufacturer and ride on manufacturer were not being very "helpful"
After much to-ing and fro-ing over 3 weeks I had enough.
Gave them both the heads up about this forum and its many members, and my review of both their machine and customer service on the pending outcome of our "problem"
Problem solved in 2 days....
