Quoted a feral on the phone. I normally do that with Indian enquiries to cut cut down on the time-wasters. The bloke accepted the price. I turned up at the arranged time and the bloke who answered the door said he hadn't ordered a lawn mow. Not much good telling him that he had. Next day a diferent bloke phoned and said that the bloke who answered the door was just off the plane and could i come round and mow straight away. I said 'where were you at the time we arranged?' "I was out". No apology, nothing. I said I'd do it for another $100 and that was the end of the conversation.
There is a bloke who tears down my notices at the local shops and puts up his own, who advertises $25 lawns. I should give his number to these types of enquiry, make em both happy.

Tonight's rant.
I order varied things from the USA via e-bay or the owner's website. The communication is very precise and prompt and within 5 or 6 days I have it. Yes I do live along Au's major freight corridor in a major inland city and that speeds thing up most of time.
But now the gripe, many items you order via ebay or the owner's website in Au and it more often than not takes longer to arrive.
The example today is I ordered some custom manufactured Suzuki Bandit 1250 Motorcycle parts 6 days ago from the USA and I have them already, the same with a selected Mower Parts from USA.
Sometimes I just can't get my head around some of the slackness within our Country at times towards customer service.
Cheers Garry
I bought air filter for my shindaiwa backpack blower on 22 dec 2013.
One filter from usa, the other one from sydney.
on 4 jan 2014, I reveiced the filter from usa. On 9 jan 2014, my air filter order from sydney just been processed to be delivered. I knew it was holiday time but you see the point.

11 = the hours on the hour-meter.
Lost all drive through gearbox and had to push for last two lawns yesterday.
By a Rover then you won't have this problem.
The shop rang me back yesterday. Internals are stuffed....
As much as I'd like to try a Rover I just like the 3-speed gearboxes much better. If this replacement fails though, I don't know.... just scratching my head at the moment.
Garry I know the exact feeling,
Back in 2010 my dad ordered a brushcutter from Melbourne and a Piston from USA.
We were on the West Coast of Tassie at the time, both items ordered on the exact same day within an hour of each other.
Piston from USA took less than 48 from ordering, the brushcutter took 7 weeks to come from Melbourne. Work that out!
Things that make me grumpy:
When you quote on a job, and they've asked for your best price, then pay VIA CHEQUE!!
I didn't want to start a new thread but has anyone else noticed how totally crap the Chinese Honda wheels are. I put a new set of rear wheels on one mower about a month ago, they have gone out of shape so bad that you cant get a nice cut out of it. Think I will be buying genuine from now on.
