This year I had to cut a big branch off a tree that was heavy, our dump weighs you so the more weight the more money it costs. So my price this year was $250.Last week I got a call from the secretary questioning the amount, I explained the situation and she said oh I took a load of greenwaste to the dump last week and it only cost $17, WTF has that got to do with me.

Anyway get home today and there is a letter saying they no longer need my services, really I couldn't care less but I thought fark em and I rang em up I was going to blast this shelia, the manger as she calls herself, but she was out so I spoke to the secretary again, she said my price was way to much. So I explained what I did and the things I have done for them over the years without charging. I said please tell the manager, and ask her to give me a call, think I might be waiting a while for that one. I don't care about the job, what makes me grumpy is that people think you should be working for free, and this is a doctors surgery, imagine telling him he charges to much
It's Amasing I was cleaning gutters for someone the other week and someone came past and asked the price, told them and got tlod that I charge like a doctors. My reply was quite simple " no they charge for a 5 min visit as almost as much as I charge per hour and they don't have to stand on a ladder to make it either! If you don't like the price your welcome to do your own!"

    Grumpy day today

    Grump 1
Need a height adj lever for my Rover, have already tried the joint where I brought it for no joy and no care factor. Tried another dealer today only to be told the same thing, freight is 3 X the part cost and no they won't Aus post it. Told them no rush put it with other orders but I won't hold my breath.
    Grump 2
Left the mower shop and went to Bunnings as I need a new blade for my Fiskars Palm saw. Spend 30mins trying to find someone who gives a hoot only to be told you can't get a replacement blade even though it clearly was designed to be removed and replaced.
Customer service sucks and people who know SFA about what they sell. To think nearly every decent hardware shop in this country had to fold because of these arse clowns.

Hey Courty, I was able to repair my lever after it broke at the locator pin. Had to file off the 2 rivets from the wheel plate. Weld up the lever, shape a new locator pin out of a tank bolt and weld it into place. Replace the rivets with suitable bolts. I wasn't confident at the time, but it's held together for over a year so far.

I was told here too that freight costs are sky rocketing at present.

I have the most annoying customer.
I have cut their lawns 3 times and each time they have asked me to cut it lower.
I cut the front lawn with my cylinder mower so low that it scalps the high spots any lower and i would need a shovel.
I cut the back lawn with the 216 because of access problems.
The honda is on the 2nd notch if i put it to its lowest the body drags on the high spots and blades cut sand.
I try to get on with my customers but this third time the guy actually followed me around the lawn to see if i could cut it lower (put it on lowest setting)
i dont know why they get someone else to cut their lawn clearly they know best.
i am going to give them the flick they are a pita.
Sorry just had to get that of my chest.

just tell em that you are putting your price up 30% because of the damage being done to your blades etc due to hitting and scalping

Good choice . At the end of the day there is nothing worse than knowing you have to go do a job that you really resent doing!

$4 part with $14 postage hahaha I found a shop in NSW listing them, but is it really worth that much postage.

Lol fair enough, i would have a looksy at the Silky saws tho they are amazing.

I have seen their use when working with pro tree loppers and they seriously are worth the cash
