Hah, the radio said we had 44mm, rain stopped about 10.30am and it became warm and windy, so out I went and did as many as I could till 5.30pm. so far behind I will have to work early sat till say 1.00pm before the big match just to keep up. Plus early start tomorrow (Friday)

Nah, the beast getting wet, I wound down - mean powered down the window and held a beach umbrella out to cover it whilst driving. Seriously though your 100% right with the new car thing being so much more careful than with the old hilux.
Still feel like God when driving around, hope that feeling stays for a while. lol

I recon you would look like God in that thing Nice looking trailer as well... What do you do when you have a garden cleanup? Do you have another trailer or use a skip bin?

Yes, have a second trailer but don't use it except for firewood for me and blue gravel/bark requests from customers.

But the main rig trailer you saw attached to the beast does the job for garden clean ups.
As below is a picture of the rear of it from my garage tonight.
On those jobs I don't carry the third mower Victa 560 mulch master or ride on in the back as there are two mowers in the front box. Only really do garden clean ups for my current customers during the slow down period over winter.
Plus I don't carry the 8 and 9 ltr broadleaf bin-die sprayers pictured as I've two 5ltr ones in the side full height kerb side toolbox.

To the trained eye the hozelock sprayer is full of wipe-out 450 re the blue color. Better go stick a label on it so I don't have a dementia moment. lol
    Cheers Garry

Got an email from a good long term client telling me my services are not required anymore . Normally wouldn't give a crap over a $40 job but have always got along really well with this family so will send a final statement and move on but still ?

with you on that one Glenno,I lost a 25 year year old customer not like the normal moving house or dying , but because the son now has power of attorney suggested that i was too expensive and will be engaging someone that charges a lot less...found out hes not registered not insured and has requested cash only....what comes around will certainly go around in this case..as for the customer ( not son ) will get a very nice present for the great client that they were...

Yeah sent the old man an email ( he has been paying for the work ) asking if it is something I've done that he is not happy about but I think he is probably just sick of paying for his sons expenses . Told him last month that they ( the son and wife ) asked if I would do their lawn and gardens when they move to Beaumaris? He had no idea what I was talking about. Must be thinking ...why the hell am I paying for their lifestyle.

Left the mower shop and went to Bunnings as I need a new blade for my Fiskars Palm saw. Spend 30mins trying to find someone who gives a hoot only to be told you can't get a replacement blade even though it clearly was designed to be removed and replaced.
Customer service sucks and people who know SFA about what they sell. To think nearly every decent hardware shop in this country had to fold because of these arse clowns.
Get used to it unfortunately. This is a consequence of the australian public wanting to import everything as cheap as possible to the detriment of local manufacturing. God help us if our shipping lanes ever get blocked. Be lucky to feed ourselves anymore. Bought a goulburn valley container of mangoes the other day thinking I'd support local food producer (even though it is owned by coca cola) and lo and behold it's manufactured in Thailand. Dunno who is to blame but the end will result will be the same, we are at the mercy of foreigners. Are we importing people to mow lawns yet?

There were two customers today that left crap, one had a bigger dog and I mowed circles around the crap to let them know about it and they are Religious Leaders of high ranking. Been problem developing of late that I had addressed previously I thought.
The circles left were obvious and will embarrass them.

The second was the story posted above with a miniature dog mines that I mulched over. As her house was two streets away from home I went to her house after I parked my rig at home to tell why it was mulched and the front only catched.

Back in early 2013 or late 2012 I posted about a customer who left up to 40 mines and I walk out on the job and sent a professionally direct word e-mail of why I walked out. In short he sad it was my job as I'm just a mowing person and that's your job.
Actually post finer details of the correspondence both ways at the time.

But you are right 100% in what you said all the way.

Just like knucking down on poor payers, I have one doctors now that is not being visited tomorrow (sat) at his surgery and when the o/due payment does arrive. It's last time he will see me, as to me it means he has no RESPECT for me.
The other doctor in the same situation payed in full and no reply to my directly word e-mail, just payment. I find there are people who just have very little respect in general for the title we carry as the "mowing man". Often find that these people think their so much higher in Linkedin World when they are not. (I don't subscribe to LinkedIn)

We are due for a dog sh*t run of posts for the new financial year with Geoff as Master of Ceremonies"
    Cheers Garry

Agreed Geoff that by not picking up is a lack of respect but, there can be exceptions.
I had an customer 85yrs old (Neil Maglashen)who was born in the very house that he lived all his life in.
Neil was eventually moved to a nursing home when he could no longer cope.
Over a period Neil went blind, he couldn't see where they were so every fortnight I would have to flick them to the back of the garden beds.

Another funny story was that on one occasion for another customer, I used my long handled spade to flick one into the garden bed.
Unfortunately I used a little too much gusto only to see it fly over the fence into the neighbours yard.
This was followed by a plop , I'll let you guess where it landed.
    Cheers Fred.
