I'm not grumpy, but have not experienced this in my 4.5 yrs,
Rain has been greatly lacking this year with the two major dams Hume Weir and Dartmouth well down on previous years.
But getting customers not wanting a Christmas/tidy or even requesting one.
Have 7-8 customers saying no and forget it for a few weeks when communicating and checking. Not sure if people are penny pinching, but do think the poor rain is the main reason,
Having said such I'm working every day into Christmas eve except Sunday, but I'm not working flat out full days tight stressful schedules in the lead up.
Not complaining as I would prefer not to work at all next week in an ideal situation.
Get the feeling the slow down with lack of rain and the continuous 40+ degree heat we have in January will be a poor earner this year. Oh well the less paced diary work load over January will be welcome. Still have my commercials and customers who water and care for lawns, but can see a general slow down starting in general before Christmas and certainly after across January.
So looks a few extra days here and there coming across January to take the boat out and go fishing.
