Nearly all modern cars have notoriously soft rotors from the factory. Minimises brake squeal apparently. As much as it sucks they are classed as a consumable so , no warranty. Replace them with decent aftermarket (DBA or similar) and you will probably never change them again

Spot on AB138. I was a cabbie in my previous life and drove a Mercedes Benz Vito. Genuine brakes were a shocker as far as longevity was concerned. First thing the owner did was go aftermarket - way better wear and much cheaper.

    Bloody oath.

Consumer affairs = The item purchased within Australia will work with out defect while within it's warranty period.
    WSords to that effect.

Pretty much it will do what it says it will do.

Unless you tow more than the TARE weight of the vehicle then you should be fine.

Car sales people are scum. No two ways about it.

Facebook message tonight: "Hello a friend recommended you to mow lawns... I have a tiny yard as I live in unit... It's a ten minute job.. Was wondering how much you'd charge to do it... Thanks a lot"

The reality is it's never a ten minute job. Get there - set out safety cones around vehicle and trailer - unpack gear - do the job and tidy up - talk to client - pack up and leave. There's a little bit in the middle there that might take ten minutes though...

And... call in at neighnouring unit for them to unlock their gate so you can sneak through to your yard. Neighbours not home, so you carry your gear through the unit to the backyard and do it with the whippie & Rake...
I did this but luckily I was lowballed after the second mow

warning warning warning '10 minute job, tiny yard AND how much does it cost' I'm surprised they didn't mention the other words 'regular job'.

Paul, don't underestimate people. Everybody knows that. I would never bother to visit to quote a small job. Just tell them your minimum for first time is xx, $5 or $10 more than your minimum once you are a regular.

Steveo1, ring Holden Australia direct and complain, then if nothing is done then ring Holden Australia direct again and use the words Consumer Affairs and ACA, it will usually stir something up. Make certain though you do not lose your cool, just be pleasant and polite, keep you voice at one level. It's hard to do but it does work as they are not getting a rise out of you and you are not abusing or showing any signs of angst.
I would also ring another dealer. Do you get your vehicle service by the dealer who you trying to get the warranty work done, if so then threaten to remove your custom this works to as warranty work is paid by Holden where your money is lots of profit for them.

    Hi David,
It's me with the issue with Holden, steveo1 was replying to my post earlier.

Yes I do get the ute serviced at the same dealer. It is going in tomorrow, to see if they can find any issues with it and to find out how much it will cost to repair.
If I'm not happy with the outcome from that I will lodge a case with customer care and see what happens then. If that fails, then I will inform CAV and see what they have to say also.

    Cheers Brett.

Went to Tyrepower yesterday arvo for a new tyre on the tandem work rig.
He asked me how I liked the SR5 Dual cab.
Told him I loved it full stop, always have a smile when behind the wheel (almost a woody), even when I look at it in the house garage. I tow a boat, tandem caravan and off course the tandem work rig with total ease.
He said he traded his Colorado due to the Trannie warning light always coming when towing his large tandem Caravan or twin Horse float. Sitting on the side of the road with two horses and trannie light on is no fun he went on to say. He got a spanking new Isuzu Dmax.
Was feeling a little not sure on how to talk to the guys in the tyre place as one of there team members died a few days ago after a earlier workshop accident. Though I would support them in my small way by getting a tyre of them instead of my usual Tyrepower dealer.

Brett, whilst you say under braking, don't discount the tail shaft in the investigation. Hope you have a positive outcome soon.
    Cheers Garry
