lost the Honda grass catcher last week.
    God knows where it is.
Damn things cost a bit to replace. Got a replacement bag and frame off evilbay for $88.

Was told in the early days there is not such things as Gold or Platinum Customers, think Fred said it, very correctly too.

I don't go chasing jobs as I'm always booked out or very close to it or can't be bothered taking on more and doing quotes, unless I think its a ripper to put on the books or friend of a good client.
A bloke came to me and asked for a quote on a nice lawn with fair sized rear yard and not much out the front. I do 50% of the houses in the small court already and one street from home.
He happily accepted the quote and said come back in 2wks as he had hired a victa mower that day for the day only which I saw.

Didn't want the job after quoting, as I had a strong feeling about this job in a neg way re the client.

I come back to mow it today or organise for tomorrow.
His nice mannered partner answers the door and is happy that I turned up and says Ill get hubby as his sitting in the kitchen.

    THEN THIS.

Hubby says, to come back another time as his "Eating his Lunch", then she says "I'm so sorry".

I walked back to vehicle and was dumbfounded, but was happy as. Best Excuse to get out of a job permanent.
Maybe should be in the Happy Thread.

Edit, then 2 hrs later I re pick up a large well kept 1/4 acre block in my own street again that I used to do up until 4 weeks ago before they shifted. For very good $$$'s
    Cheers Garry

Business Related Grumpy Post, whilst working today towing my large tandem mowing rig and have the big ride-on aboard.

Ignore dates/time on the still pictures as the camera is resetting the date every time I switch off.

This car did not back out of a driveway, it came from the Tennis/Park Complex on the left.
The driver had no idea that I was there and when we where side by side she still didn't know I was there and when I said through the Hilux window. "Would you like a quote for mowing" WTF

I had a street pole to left in fram in one of the pictures and only so far I could get of the road.
The live video footage shows it much better than a few stills and has clearly recorded the sound of 3-4 seconds of my tyres screeching on the tarmac even though I have ABS.
Hope I don't have brake shudder now as I've had the disks machined at 18,000 with 22,000ks on the clock now.

I've recorded so much with DashCam mini 0806 and nearly been killed once when I had the tandem Jayco in tow, which became a police matter. Me being 1250cc bike rider gives you a high level of alert to stay alive.

Get a DashCam peoples, folks these days drive uninsured due to the high cost for these type of people that drive uninsured.
In one still frame and magnification shows the NSW reg clearly which is not posted.

Very heavy Braking and screeching tyre sound recorded on video

Still F**king No Idea when she passes that I was there, it was only luck that we missed as I had a street pole to my left as mentioned. WTF. WTF.
    Cheers Garry

Tend to agree --- and if the rego is what I decipher, then Vicroads says it should be attached to a 08/2009 Grey Ford sedan -- & that's whats in the picture?
At times it is amazing the diff between what a camera captures and what we think we saw in the 'stress of the moment'.

Posted some 6 months back, the dashcam is a Mini 0806 from Dashcam's Au.
Wouldn't leave home now without it. Like not wearing jocks or leaving your Mobile at home if I left it beside the PC after reviewing footage..

Fractured middle finger on my right hand just as I've caught up. Took today off to ice it and try to get the swelling down. Can't afford to take anymore time off cause I'm too busy, so tomorrow should be interesting.

Started trimming a hedge this morning with the KM90 Kombi hedger. Got the face done and took a swoop off the top when the engine died.
No compression and making a strange clicking noise when I tried to start it. I'm thinking it's had a massive coronary.
Lucky, I was just across the road from the Stihl Shop, so over I went and the owner was just as pessimistic as I was, seeing as it was 5 years old and used as my main whippie most of that time.
They had no new ones there, so I ordered a km130(?) to arrive tomorrow. Left the old one there for the boys to have a look at to see if it was worth fixing.

Went back to the job and tried to finish it with the handheld hedger and ladder. Had all sorts of trouble getting access to trim the top and back, but eventually after 3.5 hrs got it and several other shrubs trimmed.

I just got loaded and ready to leave when the Stihl Shop rang to say my old kombi engine is running and ready to go. Looks like it dropped a valve. Replaced the clip and cam gear and it's a goer. $50.

Not grumpy... just stuff that happens to remind us that life wasn't meant to be easy.
At least I will have a new toy to play with tomorrow.
