When we were kids a friend of mine had a fall and hit his head, a couple of weeks later I think it was his retina partially detached and he had an eye operation, it has left him with one eye sloping down a bit. He said when it happened it was like a black curtain closing over his eye and he could only see from the bottom part of his eye.

A tree pruner who suddenly has vertigo! It's scaring the crap out of me. Never had it in my life before. Walking on a shed roof today & literally praying it wouldn't happen. When it does, I just fall over!

My wife has had vertigo a couple of times. She ended up in hospital the last time, they gave her some drugs and she got over it after a few hrs. They can't say what caused it but better to get it checked out. The more you find out about it the better. Here's hoping you never get it again.

Not being able to work all week because the Hilux was in dock with a blown up turbo.

I didn't get any happier when they told me the price for the fix either.

Will pick it up in the morning.

Usually they start leaking oil thru some sort of seal within the turbo that causes black smoke. Never understood how this leads to loss of power. The turbo is non repairable. The thing that always worries me is not knowing what caused it, therefore will it happen again? Makes you wonder how many diesels have been offloaded as soon as it is repaired which is exactly what I did. I wasn't taking the risk. It is a massive amount of money and I really sympathise with edbeek.

It's got 278k on it, so by today's standards it's not too bad.
It seemed fine when I left home and after 15km I felt it lose some power. Was still running OK at idle when I stopped and had a look. Started off again and within 2km I felt the bang.
Looks like it broke the main shaft as the exhaust impeller is just flopping around .
As I was in a hurry they had to get a brand new one. Almost $4k + fitting.

Thanks mate, it lasted about a month; I went to the quack when it 1st started & he gave me some tablets that made it a whole lot worse! I constantly felt like a pissed teenager lol! Over it now - hope it never comes back lol!

I had vertigo as well. Go and get a massage, make sure that your circulation is ok. With me my shoulders and neck were very stiff which blocked the circulation and caused the vertigo. That's my advice. Drugs only hide the symptoms they don't tackle the root cause of it.

Left home for work this morning with the intention of mowing a few big lawns. I had enough time for a surf check, got there just as the boys were launching the jet ski , don't know if that was good or bad timing , three hours later I went home with mild hypothermia.... bloody cold.... but witnessed some awesome waves , 6 snapped boards , and one dislocated shoulder.. spoke to one of the boys late this arvo he was just back from the hospital, his board hit him just above the eye 6 stiches and he was still frothing on the waves he scored.

I'm now grumpy cause I made jack today,,
