I gave them the fully insured professional gear spill, got there lawn info re: Dog? access ? and the was lawn done 2 weeks ago and not overgrown?, a email address for inviocing and on the roster.

The customers chasing multi quotes from contractors are easly weeded out, i never quote on the day they ring i say it would be about 2 days before i would be able to drop around. I call in 2 days and ask if they still require a quote for regular mowing. If they rang a heap of people they normanly aready have it done, if they just wanted my quote they will wait 2 days and I will do it when im there quoting.

My quality of work and rates speak for themself with referals form long standing customers. my book are full so im lucky i can pick and choose.
    Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Macka, wasn't having a go about your quality of work, just that IMO if a customer doesn't care about price or quality of work, they are an idiot!
In our industry just like anywhere else, they do exist.
Im pretty sure everyone on here will have had their experiences with one, if they've been in the game a while.
With the vast majority of customers, there's little problems but, some mothers do have em.
Its all revealed on this thread.
    Cheers Fred.

on another tangent....noticed some sheared bolts in the trailer after the last job, somehow the brake pad has come off? absolutely no idea what has caused this, need to find suitable bolts now. The standard gravely bolts are grade 5 and pretty cheap looking - tossing up about either grade 8 or stainless bolts?

on the other side, the pad is welded and is suitable for a abrams tank

    No problem Fred,

The Customers i take on already know the quality and price of my work because most are referials from regulars or know me locally. Its not like they dont care about the price by not asking for quotes they know i can be trusted to price it so i makes money for me and they will get a qualiaty regular service and I dont rip them off.

Trust from the customer is the most important thing i look for. They can trust me to do my best for them.

I give all my customers a 100% satifaction garantee if there not happy they dont pay.

I think they would bolt that side so that you can slide the axle out to replace the bushes.

Maybe the brake needs adjusting. I'd imagine if they are engaging too tight, it would put extra strain on the bolts. If too loose, the mower would roll a bit and again put extra strain on the bolts. Grade 8 bolts should be fine.
My Compact Pro has a different handbrake system.
Did you end up putting the wider tyres on it Paul?

Well call me a grump but I'd email gravely with the photos and ask for a please explain and if there please explain ain't good enough up the ante and make a complaint to consumer affairs or whoever. Don't let em off the hook. Emails are easy to send.

I think I must have caused it steve, the thing is built like a tank..... I've replaced the bolts with normal bolts from the stockpile, will have to order some high tensile ones (wish I still had the milling machine, the bar is made from seriously hard steel, took some work to get the snapped bolt out with the pedestal drill)

Made myself feel a lot better. Went past the job the beer bob did later in the week. He only did the front half of the yard and did not do the sidewalk. So he only did about $30 worth.

Is anyone having Magpie issues yet? Had one pretty persistent on the weekend while mowing a school. I think the speed & noise of the mower stopped him from getting too brave, but I've got to go back in the next few days to spray some glypho including a sand pit, soakage area & tennis court right near his tree.. Should be fun.

They are still sitting on the eggs here. Saw this young bloke being followed by a magpie. The magpie was walking behind him like it was on a lead and the guy was scared of the magpie, and the magpie knew it and kept following hoping to get some food i assume. Very funny. They are very clever birds.

Was thinking about it as I drove into a job last Saturday! 6 big guys all lined up on the garden bed edging as I drove through the gate.

did the occasional scan of the area while we were working
