Well 2 days ago I post this edited grumble re the feral calls and treatment that fires our way at times.
Today I pick up another gem of a Commercial Property in a prime location that has immaculate show type lawns/gardens and must be presented that way all the time year round. This high profile position that will have my signaged rig on display to a quality customer based environment. Type of property that requests fertilising/spraying of lawns to ensure a standard.
Grumpy Thread becomes a Happy Thread.
Cheers Garry
Does not matter how much maintenance you seem to do sometimes.
Both backpack blowers down 1st full week back at work. Add an electrical fault on the ZTR which I nailed down after a couple days and I am already chasing my tail.
Sun has not come out yet either
Second lawn today , broke the clients daughters car window , quote $559 plus the window tint , happy days , packed up and went home. Some days this job really gets me down.
I am always careful around cars but I seem to have unending bad luck
Cheers

I have a clause on my quotes that covers it as well. And everyone gets a quote whether they ask for it or not. Reckon if they did take you to court and the Magistrate heard that you asked them to move it and they didnt he would throw it out as a waste of time. Also reckon it would be highly unlikely to end up in court in the first place and it wouldn't be me they would be fighting but my insurance company. Come to think of it most move their cars when asked

The things you do for mates...
Been doing a few jobs lately, for another lawnie that's off injured.
I turned up 9am Saturday to mow & trim a regular lawn & trim a couple of hedges.
It's a corner block with a 10m wide nature strip down the long side. That's OK.
She comes out in a nightie (very nice too) points to a couple of hedges and disappears inside.
Big pan licker & associated debris chained up at one of the hedges. That's ok, he's friendly.
Washing on the line. That will probably be gone by the time I get to mow.
Did the 2 hedges and there's another 3 around the place that need a trim too. Easy peasy... tidy them up too.
Do a lap with the whippie.. washing still on the line.
Go out the front & the kid is now washing the car on the driveway. Good kid earning some pocket money.. I'll leave that bit for later.
Break out the mower & start the back yard. I come around the corner from behind the hedge and she's giving another lady a haircut out on the patio. I'm making plenty of dust so I'd better go outside & mow the nature strip. Kid still washing the car.
Hair client has parked her car bang in the middle of the nature strip.... Mow around the car.. not much grass anyway.
I sneak back inside... haircut finished so I mow that part, chase dog around so I can mow under his area, kid finished washing the car so I tidy that up... All Done!!
Load up the mower and ready to collect the $$$ and the hair client comes up & says she's moved her car for me.
It all worked out good in the end. Can't let little things upset you.
x3, BUT,
It was inconsiderate of them & It might be an idea to educate them (in a nice humorous way) so its less likely to happen again.
If it happens a few times it may not be such a little thing anymore.
Then if the next place is similar, it may be stretching your cool somewhat !
Cheers Fred.
