Oh Ian it took every ounce of self control I had not to say just that to her. Also took a stellar effort not to say...cos your kid has all the co-ordination of a cornflake and spends 90% of the game staring at the sky and THAT's why she's still in the lower division. But I decided that was probably not going to help the situation so asked her to put it in writing.

John - frustrating that you haven't had confirmation of the job after making room for it but, looking for the silver lining for you (Timmy calls me little miss sunshine), hopefully this means you will get to have a break tomorrow - perhaps you can watch Bathurst!

Thanks Joanne was thinking about that also, but the wife would have got me out doing our backyard instead, it's now a jungle!!!

Well bugger me !! 9.30pm and I got a reply on email. Seems like I was talking to the MD, and he has been working late also - on a Saturday evening.

Looks like I now gotta go out an honour my end of the agreement!! As a developer more work may come, at least regular mowing for this site until it gets developed fully!!

Talk to him this morning and bust my ar** working all day today to make time for him tomorrow. Well well, it seems that these people coming to look at this property on Monday may well just see it overgrown as I saw it.
When speaking to him this morning I asked him to send me an email confirming the job and prices discussed. Get home an no email!!
This wasn't the jungle at the back of Cheltenham was it?

    No, in Wheelers Hill.

Hope the foxes don't "steal my wifey" while she is working. Quite a few holes there and they look quite comfortable. Could be trouble though if they poke there head out while the Hustler is going past! Will be a bit like Andy and his possum.
The other option is just take Rebel along and close the main gate. He will be like a pig in sh"" for the day, roaming on 2 acres especially if there is a some vermin to chase!

Yes, absolutely. I will always clean up any mess that I make. All I ask customers, tenants and neighbours to do is to give me the opportunity to do so before they have a go at me. I think most people's attitude is that we are just Lawnies so it's ok to talk to us like a mongrel dog piece of 5h!t.

I had one of those in a 26 unit complex, and he wanted me to blow as soon as I did his place, so I offered to put in a new quote to the body corp. From than on, after I mowed he swept his path, than after I snipped he swept. He moved out not long after

Oh yeah ..... one more thing I meant to add. If they originally came from a desert environment, you wouldn't expect that they would be so concerned about a little extra sand or dirt ?

my newish Cox went in for repairs today, blowing huge clouds of smoke and big loss of power, not happy but promised to have it back in 3-4 days. Bought a new victa mulchmaster 560 with briggs 850 - shopping as therapy

Not a B&S motor is it. I had one do this and I needed a new motor it was stuffed.
I have my Cox in the shop at the moment too, broke the rear axle on LHS, it had a fracture for a while. Comes from buying 2nd, I only bought because it had a new 13hp Honda on it, lucky I have my old old Cox which has 2nd hand 18hp B&S, great for slashing and covers the ground faster.

yeah David its a B&S, 16.5 Intek, if its stuffed(please no!!) my old cox has a near new 13.5 I/C that I'd swap. I'm hoping its either a blocked/stuffed crankcase breather, blown head gasket or a f--ked ring.

i got my first 'commercial job ' the other week mowing a motel's lawns and fixing up the flowerbeds and irrigation. motel owner accepted the written quote and i couldnt have been more chuffed.
did the whippersnipping, mowing and and an hour or so of gardening and trying to understand the amateur mess they called irrigation. gave my invoice to the manager at the end
got an email from the owner the next day saying that she wasnt happy with how much work i'd done for the price, i was too expensive and that she didnt need me any more.
with a dented ego in regards to the amount of work id done i got the mobile number of the owner and did the whole lets try to sort this out routine.
apparently i gave the owner the quote when she was too busy to read it properly ( my fault!) as she never would have accepted it otherwise. i was charging her $60 an hour, for which she said she could have got a proper plumber and that mowing in just unskilled labour.
very proud of myself for not verbalising my thoughts to the stupid dumbarse cow of a thing.
but now i have my new polesaw that is never going near her ugly palm trees and an unneccesarily large collection of irrigation bits n pieces!!!...
