When you order different parts at 3 mower shops, they say they should be in within a week, but they will call when they arrive. I turn up at each today 3 weeks later, parts have being in all that time, no phone call. What happened to customer service and looking after the contractors.

Hitting steppers in grass and you smash the side off and now have to lay another to replace. As if I am not busy enough. F*%K!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be accepting responsibility for objects concealed that get damaged or become a projectile that cause damage.
If my blades or machine are damaged due to a concealed object, then I add this to the bill.
I hope you are billing your client for your time and the replacement stepper.

Client has replacement steppers, so just time. Object was not concealed, open view just lack of concentration. Been doing their lawn for years and never hit them until now. Client also owns a real estate business that gives me plenty of work that I charge nicely for so unfortunately it is a similar scenario to my wife.

I have to give a little to get a little!!!!!!!

I smashed my first window last week in over 5 years of mowing and didn't even realise until I saw my customer and she told me. She said that they would claim it on their insurance and didn't say anything about me paying for it. I offered to pay because they are good customers but they said not to worry about it ....... Hang on, maybe this post should be in "Things that make (me) happy".

Dropping flyers off tonight, and come across a cowboy unloading his pile of junk. He says gday as I walk past him, and I return the gesture. I bypass his and his neibours letterbox, and 10 minutes later I get a gutless and abusive prank call. What a loser. I hope its the idiot that I am raking in unhappy clients from.

Humm, bet you don't share a coldie with that neighbour.

Was he called "Faulty's Mower Services" and have a strange walk, it so that may explain why he was parked like such.
    Cheers Garry

He was using VIP before I moved in here.

I actually have a policy of not trying to get business from the neighbours, that way you dont get in a tangle over money, etc. If they ask for a quote, for some reason mine are always very high.

A stupid bloody woman not telling me her cat had taken a dead bird into the long grass and not being able to find it. Month dead bird giblets flicked up from whippy do not make me a happy camper. Particularly at 9am in the morning with a full day ahead of me.

Doing a rideon job that takes twice as long as expected due to not haveing a good look around the site then to top it off end up with a punctured wheel on said job, loosing half a day and spending around $70 before the tyre is sorted all for $200

    You're right there.

I work for three of my neighbours now. All of them I have known for a long time. One is very good about paying what the job is worth. The other two always put the pressure on me not to charge them too much.

Pruned/lopped a very old, large Camellia for one today and she was out there the entire time watching and dragging away branches out to my trailer thinking it would help speed up the job and lower price. She was actually getting in my way and causing me to take longer than I should have. I had to ask her to stop in case she did something unforseen and hurt herself.
