Was driving to a job on a winding gravel road yesterday when I noticed a fair-sized huntsman spider on the rear vision mirror. He's getting a bit agro round & round the mirror picking a fight with the 'other' spider in the mirror.
So I'm driving along, looking for a spot to pull off the road and keeping an eye on the spider and must have hit a rock. Rewted the tyre. Ends up I had driven past heaps of safer sites than where I eventually had to pull off to change the tyre.
Later in the day, I go to take off on on bit of a hill, and the clutch starts slipping. So looks like a new clutch soon too.
'Unbreakable' Hilux.... what BS.
the clutch started slipping on my Hilux about 8 months ago.So i went and bought the kit and i still hav'nt needed to replace it. Thinking the rear engine seal might have dumped a bit of oil on the clutch.
Did a quote for a local builder today to maintain four display homes. Agrees on quote, discusses keys etc we book in a date which I had to rearrage especially to fit them in. I drive off thinking that went well good for me BUT get a email a couple of hours later saying thanks but someone will do it cheaper. No courtesy call nothing. Losing quotes doesnt normally worry me but when you get told youve got the job then you dont - really gets up my nose to put it politely.
yep BS, bit like when you do there first lawn (which is verging on feral) and they look into ur eyes and tell you they definitely want a regular service. I actually stay behind and do 'little' extras for 15-20 min or so BUT never hear from them again
Cheers.

Whether it is feral or not, I carefully screen calls. Once off are a total waste of time, I tell them $70 minimum and I will never do a 'free' quote.
Quotes arnt free??
Cheers.

That would really piss me off. Seeing he'd agreed to the job I'd be sending him an invoice for your time to quote, travel etc, plus whatever you were going to charge for the first mow of the four dsplay homes.
The least he could have done was call you to discuss the other price he got and to compare exactly what you had included in your service vs what the other guy is including in his price.
I hate when customer call me and ask first question how much I charge per hour????
answer sorry i don't doing your suburb

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
I've said it before and I'll say it again never under quote on the 1st mow because they say it will be a regular if they won't pay what the 1st mow is worth they're unlikely to want to pay the regular price when it's not that bad.Even if they do want regular I've found these are the 1st ones to ring and say it's not that bad leave it another week or 2 until it's almost as bad as it was the 1st time
