I do feel for the guy, but, he's in the industry, he knows the game The council won't loose any sleep over the $22,500 fine, but he will. I think he just took the gamble and got caught. Obviously the fine stinks.
Are you asking for a quote to take it down Trev?

The bastards will de-register your business name too if you get caught.

Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Have another look at the pic of the saw using his body to give it scale. Mate, that's got to be a 38-42" bar! Have to have one hell of an oil pump to keep up with that. Maybe it's got some sort of HD oiler on it?

Yeah. Not a saw for the faint hearted or untrained.

Up here the council (and every man and his chainsaw) has been busy cutting up and carting away gum trees (and assorted other varieties) that were trashed by the recent cyclone...that's a legit way to do it (but not the most pleasant).

I've finally found an qualified arborist/climber Trev. He quoted a job I thought would be worth around $3K (bugger of a job in the backyard of a strata) at $1,210 inc. Give me a call if you ever need his mobile number.

Still not allowed to cut up oversize trees here unless you're removing them from an immediate hazard (ie: roadway)
