    Fair point HPM.
The pic makes the lines look a little closer than they actually were but never the less it was taken into account.
I believe electricity can jump up to 2-3m from un insulated lines.
Not only the ladder is aluminium but you're waving around a tool with a long aluminium shaft.
The other thing is that the hire yard did'nt have a big enough fibreglass platform ladder.
The platform ladder we were using weighed 34kg, wonder what a fibreglass one would weigh?
    Thanx again for your concern.
    Cheers Fred.

This is one I did a couple of weeks ago. It's a bit thin in places, but should grow back in time.

I did my biggest ever hedge clean up today. I thought it was honeysuckle vine, but the owner called it Golden Trumpet.
Many years since it was trimmed, and the owner wanted it reduced as much as possible so the top sort of follows the line of the posts and sagging netting.

I'm glad I got the mobile tower. I think the job would have taken much longer working off a platform ladder.

(forgot to start taking pics before I started hacking)

Great Work and satisfying to do big jobs like that, think you may wake up in the morning with some real heavy shoulders.
No dreaming of spiders and sticky webs tonight

    Good stuff Ed !
How long does it take to assemble/disassemble the scaffolding?
Simply push it along & lock the wheels when in position?
What if the grounds sloping away as it appears to be in the second shot? Stabilizers/outriggers?
And the hire cost, if you dont mind me asking?
    Cheers Fred.

Fred, I was by myself to set it up and had never done it before. Had completely forgotten which bars go where when I got to the job
Took me about half hour to sort it and set it up. Owner was there to help dismantle and load it. That only took 10 minutes.
The bars have spring loaded pins that lock them in place.
Wheels are adjustable for height. I only needed a few inches so I didn't look to see how far they would extend.
Yes it rolls along pretty easily even on the lawn and the wheels have locks.

The cost was $21/metre + GST and I asked for 4metres. But I think I should have just asked for 3 metres and would have got the same setup anyway. That $21 was for 1-2 days hire.

That's a good price. A local hire mob here charge $50 per metre per day plus delivery if required.

My first Southern Highlands' hedge Job, the hedge whilst it doesn't look that high from the photos, it is about 4m at the high end, running down to about 3m over a 40 metre length.

I used scaffolding which made it easy access the height and found it very quick to use compared to hanging off a ladder or trying to use an extension on the hedger.
