This one's mine 1957 they came in deluxe and special this is the special. They have the nick name the "toe cutter" as there is no protection from getting your toes cut.
Two stroke engine has been rebuilt and runs fine,i just need two more parts to finalize it.I didn't rebuild this one.
But i do have another oldie to build. These machines came with a edger that you fit onto the deck but i haven't even seen one so i can buy one.
I'm getting one, also look up 'power 'planter', good tool for us or gardening ect, sorry cant do the link thingy. BSD.
Well the 40 deg days last week have finally slowed the mowing game in my region up a little. Yippie - Yabba Dabba Doo !!
Just booked an Alpine location Caravan Park by a river for 5 nights starting this Friday arvo after some morning jobs. The park is 55 mins towing time from home and it’s not the mowing trailer I’ll be towing.
Peace; tranquility, deck chairs, no petrol or battery whippers or hedgers in sight and a pub next door..
Cheers Garry
I order Ride on Mower belts from the usual place in Oregon USA at midday last week on Tuesday and they arrived midday Wednesday today. Tracking shows they arrived at Melb Airport 1.00pm last Saturday. Aust Post normal motor bike bloke delivered to my door & US Postal Service started the journey.
But often my Au posted ordered parcels go all over the place in Aust and more often than not take longer to get delivered. Very often envelopes posted to me 6km from my house travel the 650kms round journey to Canberra mail centre before I get them. Or Mail travels 560kms, then to go past me to go another 330km to Sunshine Mail centre then another 330kms to get back to me. Glad I don't plan my mowing route that way.
Good on Ya US Postal Service and to the Oregon USA local White Appliance/Mower parts store for posting so rapidly.
Cheers Garry

You get used to it to some degree, Last week I had the right under arm heat chafed and with a patch half the size of a bus card red raw almost bleeding working in 40+ everyday. Anti fungal cream put on daily/nightly like a thick cream. Plus at home I've 10.5mtrs holding 56,000 ltrs of H2O to come home too after days of extreme heat.
This year has been a good year with not many 5-6 day stints in a row at 40+ to 43 deg and no bushfires like Dec 2016 when we had to shift the van + boat urgently and pack a few things. When I see the forecast 34-35, its a cool change so book in the harder jobs and work a longer day. But It will be all over for another year soon and I'm packing the Caravan at the moment for that mentioned 5 day trip to Mount Beauty Friday arvo. So the heat will be forgotten once the top of a stubbie is cracked with the Kiewa River flowing by my campsite.

We just finished 14 days non under 35deg.Start early push through it,if it becomes too much for you call it a day and get back into it tomorrow
It's a hard slog, Adelaide gets its fair share of the hot stuff.
For us if you call it a day, you get behind and the next day is 40 or over and the next is 40 or over so you have to be careful to not get to far behind. But its all good now with lower temps than normal for this time of the year

This is really Gen Chat now. but re posting in a public forum about one taking a few days off away.
We have a professionally installed a very high tech alarm system that incorporates perimeter sealing capability whilst sleeping, reporting back to base reporting and to us and to my daughters with transmission coverage to remote buildings on our land.
Same mob also installed the full coverage Hikivision CCTV which can be monitored by us Australia wide via our iphone and ipad apps 24/7 which can be played back, zoomed, night/day or simply watched at random.
With all systems having battery backup. Plus have an immediate family member staying at home.
Just encase some one was thinking about me posting a short break away.
Cheers Garry
