This is what makes me happy, I hope to have it on the road within 2 years. It's a 1948 Fordson Thames 3 ton truck with a Ford Flathead V8 with a crash gearbox and top speed of 80kph. It will have a tipper tray and a large toolbox. I will have to learn how to double shuffle to change gears as when I tried before I crunched the gears, need to match engine speed with gearbox speed to change gears. It will be sign written, I reckon it will be a good bit of advertising for my business.Fordson at home.jpgFordson on Trailer.jpg

I'd hope "The Local Gardener" is prepared to tackle what ever comes.

Hi David, just about to post up wether anyone had a promotional/functional vehicle & up this comes.
I thihk that on fruition u will have a real head turner!
Have u had previous experience with older vehicle restoration?
Looks like a HUGE project, good luck.
Ive toyed with the idea of buying a restored older vehicle 4 promotional purposes.
I would'nt have the time, inclination or expertise to restore one myself.
I was thinking a Landrover 101 forward contol would be desireable, suiting both my business & my interest in 4wdriving.
My cornundrum is, I already have a setup that took a while & suits what I do perfectly.
Do I forgo this & try again with an early 70's vehicle? No power steering, a rag top & a weird positionesd gearsick.
Drivng around innner/middle suburban areas everyday, could I handle it?
On the other hand, it would turn heads no doubt, a very unique looking vehicle.
In camo with the right promotional signage, Im sure it would be a winner!
HEDGES 101, what da ya wreckon?
Only other vehicle Ive seen on here is Flamin mows.
Anyone else got a promotional/functional vehicle????????????
David yours will be a reality, mine, as the wife says........ tell him he's dreamin!
    Cheers Fred.
