10 Points Mick.
10 Points Mick.
finished the last job today, blew the neighbors carport out as crap blew in there yard, packing up gear and the neighbor cruises over with a ice cold beer in hand, at 5pm I cracked it open straight away. best job in the world.
Micka,
Your a legend with the final outcome,
I've one brewing too re no I mean zero appreciation for all the extra effort over and above I do every visit. Just constant little snippets of complaints, even with a gate pin that I had closed as they do and it was hard to open. So call me back, but hubby will not pull the pin out of the hole in the brick work, just call me back to open it, no lock here, just a pin in a hole in the brickwork. Grrrr!!!!
Cheers Garry
Had a bloke who I do semi regularly...like when he rings...no biggie because I charge him for it. Last job the trampoline was half on the lawn. I mowed around it. He rings up and says you didnt do all the lawn. I say yes that right because your trampoline was on it. He says why didnt you move it. I say why didnt you move it you knew I was coming. I tell him I dont move trampolines around so make sure it is off the lawn next time. He gets the drift
Cheers

Ive lost jobs because of trampolines and my not moving them!
Ive also hurt my neck, back and shoulder moving them, spent time putting them back together when they come apart etc. Had a fallen spring get tangled up in my blades once which ended up inserting itself into my hand whilst trying to remove it from under the deck. That customer had a super old one, basically just the frame but they refused to get rid of it. "The kids play with it!" Then one day its not there! Im stoked! 2 weeks later theres a new one out in the yard. I didnt last much longer after that!
Funny really, I dropped 2+1 lawns yesterday and both had trampolines! The 3rd one had pulled down an old tramp only to leave the parts on the lawn all winter!
One I dropped yesterday, I spoke with the wife a week or so ago about trampolines. The majority of grass had died off due to drought but she said, "we moved the tramp because, look how green the grass is (that was under there!)" It was just long stringy grass reaching for sunlight. She didnt get it. I proceeded to mow it and show her it was 80%+ just dirt! Not so green now hey honey! ha I told them time and time again, pick a spot and leave it! The tramp was back to its original spot yesterday! ha
I've got a trampoline in my backyard. Its a bit of a dilemma. Kids hardly use it but I can't bring myself to throw it out so its shading the tomatoes. Seriously though, unless you poke an electric cattle prodder at kids these days they will not drop the computer game to go outside. So many backyards these days are unused.
My 15 yr old daughter is different, she throws her IPod on an jumps for hours when she has nothing to do.
It must be the season for dumping the crap, I have a list I'm working through now as well

I did a job the other day and the customer has the real big tramp that weighs a tone, we always move it and mow under it, anyway he has portable wheels now that you can get for moving trampolines, they are the bees knees.. I will take a photo next time and put it up.
I did a job the other day and the customer has the real big tramp that weighs a tonne, with knickers on the line, the size of parachutes

nah, the husband is the customer, the wife can't fit through the door to pay me.
don't let her lure you inside for "payment" ...you'll never escape lol in saying that, do the right things and she might feed you cake

Love this time of the year for family reasons but really enjoy knocking people wanting their lawn done just before christmas as a extra,,,,especially when the are behind in their payments ( knowing they can afford it ) this year has been so less stressful because i am only doing existing customers that fall on the day and the normal goodies that pay well for the Christmas time.... I have over the years busted me guts trying to get every thing done ..its not worth i actually want to enjoy a few days off without recovering from hard work...so enjoys boys and girls smell the roses, the serenity , that smell 2 stroke lol,,,,,,this year has been a ripper for presents lot and lots of quality shiraz.....got a penfolds 707 too...( 230 bucks ) ,all appreciated even the simple box of chocs or biscuits ,even got 12 free dinner for two for next year one a month from one of tabarets so my best year....
