    Yep
Maybe they should have been called a 'politician bird' in which case we could call this one Abbott.

My poor old gardening saw doesn't get a lot of use. 5 minutes now & again, so it tends to get neglected badly.
Filled it with fuel last week and it all poured out the end of the tank through a corrosion hole.
I started looking around for a new replacement then thought of trying to patch the hole.
Cleaned it up and put a 2 part epoxy patch on. Filled it with fuel and let it sit over the weekend.
No weeps so maybe I'll get some more life out of the old girl yet.

Losing a client who had moved to Sydney and rented his home out to a friend. Friend got very sick and had to move so he sold his house in 1 week at $$$ above what he expected. Asked me to clean out garage & shed, take whatever I wanted and rest to go for hard rubbish - then invoice him
Now, I wonder what's in the garage?

Do you need a hand hahahaha

I'm sure there will be some worthwhile items in there. I had one similar, but then the ladies daughter decided to clean it out all the stuff I would have kept and moved on to second hand dealers, she put in a skip and sent it to the tip.

Some light rain coming at the moment 5.00pm Thurday and across the night into early morning.
Fantastic, could have tomorrow off now if it becomes wet or too damp.
Beer in the fridge, misses rings that she will pick up Chinese for tea.

Plenty of dry Redgum firewood in reserve for the Coonara Wood heater in the shed tomorrow if its too wet. Me loyal Golden Retriever will jump on the shed couch and watch what I do for the day..
    Bring on some rain
    Cheers Garry

Success in repairing my rotary/pneumatic hammer drill that was hammering ok but would not rotate bit due to slipping clutch

Well it's one of those GMC brand machines that were quite well designed/made in China, but unfortunately company went belly up a few years ago so .....
Did a dismantle and found cause to be coil springs (10 of them) in the overload clutch fracturing due to metal fatigue.
909 is the co which took over their designs, and hoped some parts from current range might be interchangeable, but knowege of &/or avail of parts (to public) seems to be almost non existent -- typical current consumer stuff which is treated as 'throwaway / not repairable' which makes me tetchy.

Anyway a trip down to Bayswater Springs and $5 came away with a handful of small springs from their 'odds & sods' bin and another $1 at the bearing shop for a handful of 7/32" ball bearings which seemed to be a better fit than the original fitment. A bit of work on the grinder to cut the 10 springs to length (12mm) and reduce their diam slightly (5mm).
Re-assembled clutch, installed, repacked grease in gearbox and re-assembled.
    Voila!
One good working drill again which makes one feel really good that one was able to repair rather than 'chuck away'

Now to take it to work on some big! basalt boulders I have ...
Drilling and then splitting with feathers and wedges ... Into manageable stones for retaining wall.
It really gives one a nice feeling when you hear the crack of big rock yielding to the simple feathers and wedges .
