Last November I was happy when an eldery bloke came up to me on a job and said I have a brand new Honda 216 S/P with Blade Brake and Mulcher accessory. It was too heavy for him. My local dealer confirmed he had purchased it. Got it for $680
The seller also said two doors up my elderly neighbour also bought one at the same time as he he wants to sell it too as it's too heavy. I didn't go for his neighbours mower as I has soo many S/P mowers as it was including a Honda/Victa Mulmaster 560.
Well ever since I got the Full Honda braked S/P I have stopped using my two Honda/Victa S/P Turfmasters.
Today I was on the same job again and thought I may just drop into the house and see if this bloke still has it and thats if I got the right house. Also New stock of Honda mower's have gone up another $100 due to the falling dollar. They are ticketed now for $1750, althought we as contactors get a better deal and GST is claimed.
Ok the bloke had the mower in a rear shed under cover. It was brand new and started well for a unused mower.
Haggled, haggled, walked and haggled and paid $850 this time.
So $680 and $850 = $1530 for two new genuine Honda 216 and both braked, as its so good not having the grass in your face when doing the "empty the catcher thing" or going up a step.
Petrol all the way for me!!
To cream it off, I'm having a self invented 3 day long weekend and have the Jayco hooked up for a 7.00am departure tomorrow morning. Yabba Dabbo Doo

Picked up a big new client today. Very happy to have this one on board! Wouldn't have been able to quote it without the Husqy Rider I bought a couple of months ago; so I'm also still very happy that I bought that too.
Action stations guys....

Yerr Spring and ten regular customers whom I last saw mid June who put you on call over winter all ring within today and yesterday. With the usual call coming out of winter, need my lawns mowed before Wednesday's arvo & Thursday rain forecast. Trying to push in on the customers who kept me working automatically throughout winter. Plus the renters I have never worked for with the panic inspection letter, like today ring at 11.30am and want lawns done today. No mate, thanks for the call but ring someelse.
It's still a happy post as there more work than this old bugger can handle now that the season is changing, glad I got another new gen HRU216 to help out for $850.
Must work out when I should retire fully and go fishing in tha boat more. Worked hard to doing several garden jobs for clients I cover every winter who go overseas to Europe. I was struggling today on my last house knowing they were in Prague in Czech Republic.
Cheers Garry
Yep piss off winter But I won't be missing the mowing , the dozen I have left for play dough is just right :-)

When I left home early yesterday morning it was near 6'c. A few hrs later I'm in near 30'c. Or 28' with the cool ocean breeze! Frozen Margareta...mmmmmmm
As I write this Im watching a tug boat pulling a barge up a river! Nice!
Courty, IM not missing the mowing one bit mate!
Yeah yeah. Rub it in ya pr!ck.
I'm off to quote 5 acres and from the satelite, it looks to have a million trees on it. You don't want to come up and show how to put your fancy stripes on it ?? Once you get the feel of a smooth red mower you'll be back in the game in no time
Ouch! lol
I won't be back mate! Had a call from a lawnie friend this morning about a job I referred to him. He said he was embarrassed when it only took 20mins for the $100. Takes 30mins in summer! No trimming, flat and mostly smooth!
He's as happy as can be but I did have to remind him of the carton! ha
Im out but have one job to let go. I haven't heard from the customer in several winter months and he's going to get a shock when I tell him its over!
He's or more she's a pita.
Must be margarita time! Dry old conversation this one! lol
Actually, about to catch some public transport! Should be interesting! If Im not back in 12hrs, send a search party!
Good on ya Mick.
Are you holidaying at present, or is margaritas on the river a just regular part of your new job? #greenwithenvy
