Beautiful day, weather wise here. We had a top of 24 degrees no wind. My wife had the day off and took our 19month old son to the beach and sent me a photo of him playing in the sand. 15 minutes later I was able to join them and build sand castles with him for a while until he got tired. The experience reenforced why I love my job so much. I am earning about half as much as I used to (as a carpenter in Melbourne) but so much happier and thankful that I call the shots and can take time of to be with my family when it suits me.
What a great life we have and guess many here can relate to the above story from GrowCutMow. As I never really experienced time with my kids when they were young growing up in my past career.
I worked the weekend just gone, put a very long day in Saturday to ensure Sunday was a short day to watch Moto3,2,1 in the shed over a beer. Woke up feeling very tired this morning and rang 6 customers who are all nice people and rescheduled them into Tues & Wednesday (provided they were OK with it) even though Tue & Wed will be longer than normal in catching up.
Yep the freedom we have is magic and I got do some home jobs done including a detailed clean of my Celair roof mount unit seeing 30deg is the go this week.(hate that job, but saved on a service call and did a better job).
Cheers Garry
Had one of my customers today pay me in advance, not just for next time but the next 3 months as she is going away on a holiday very cool and she also got me a gift voucher for Christmas, nice lady.
Only having two residential customers left !!
Everybody is entitled to MY opinion
Not Happy, but you've just gotta laugh.
I've been doing a lot of full days helping a feisty 86yo lady set up her new home/gardens on a farm.
One of the jobs was to paint a 3x3m frame made of 25mm RHS that will be a shade house. She's got all the paint & gear required.
When the day comes, she fronts with 4 litres of charcoal hammertone paint and a pack of 5 for $2 brushes from crazy clarks.
I spent hours trying to get some sort of hammer finish with the cheap brush and she waddles over and says 'I think we might do the next coat white to match the house. Don't you think so?'
5 minutes of explaining that it will be covered with shade cloth and charcoal really is a nice colour, had to conceed.
'Yes Dear. I'm sure that white will look lovely'
only 5 minutes you did well to admit defeat so fast
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
