my daughter is finally getting better after major surgery and we can hand the 1 year old and three year back again ...was good in one respect as they got up 6 am each morning so getting to work was easy...the other stuff was hard especially for the good wife ,have had enough of giggle and hoot and if i watch another in the garden ( iam convinced they are on drugs lol ) i will go crazy...but actually it was good fun to spend so much time with the boys, they even know how to swear now hehehehe
Excellent news there re recovery and having the family all home, such a worry especially when there so young.
Even when they get older it still hurts bad to see them go through medical op's. My eldest at 21 last year had surgery. Now at 22, we still never know when a call will deliver news of another ambo trip and maybe urgent hospitalisation.
On a separate HAPPY note, my wife and I paid our last house mortgage today. We have a quite nice house and to see $0.00 on the account balance line is a pleasure to see when we log in to the account. Have sat on a small figure owing for a while now as we liked knowing we had the redraw security. But don't need it now as I fast approach 55 and have the security of Superannuation as a fall back.
Cheers Garry
Huge congrats to you and the wifey, Gazza. Can hardly imagine how great that must feel.
Soooo jealous as I'm about to flush money down the drain, renting.
Thanks.
The sooner you can get out of the renting game the better long term. Just sometimes one needs a few things going right to help the process I guess.
A message prompted on the internet banking to say your loan is paid off and you must contact the bank to close or ongoing applicable fees will apply. (What a lovely message to see re loan paid)
Our daughter and her partner now 22 and 24 were going to move out and rent at 18 and 20. Both parents stop them and kept them home board free to save. Last November they moved into a beautiful new home they had built for them and are doing it quite well. Both have well established & growing careers already in IT & Medical.
Cheers Garry

Today I figured out what makes me happy doing garden makeovers..... Its the weeding. People hate doing it, so you always get weeding work which you can charge nicely for and weeding for 4 hours, means Im not burning out my equiptment for four hours...... That makes me happy!

after a good day at work my two grand boys staying with us ( 18 months and 3 ) helping grandpa in the vegi garden ...amazed how excited they get when allowed to help in the garden, maybe the flowers are pulled instead of weeds but they have to start somewhere lol ....
dropped a limb on a customers neighbours washing line and bent it, guy who does the chipping also backed into his gate and broke two palings.fixed his gate no problem, finally straightened up his washing line on wednesday, now I get a call from his son... I've got a few more trees for you. I'm surprised, never done such damage and I get jobs out of it. I did remove a $250 tree for $50 though and I said don't worry about it.
