It really annoys me when a prospective client gets a heap of lawnies to rock up for a quote all at the same time. If it happens to me I will just drive away. They will turn out a pita client for sure. At least have the decency to deal with each person one on one

"Success occurs when no one is looking, failure occurs when everyone is watching."
If you ever go for tender, this is the usual process. Everybody gets the specs and then a walk through all together.
doesn't faze me, its a NFP lot so I know the story they are dealing with. fwiw I got the job lol

So with these people calling for tenders they prolly want cheap and everything, its off my league but I reckon if its worth say $600 to actually earn a quid, then quote $285, and play the game.
Ive done alot of tender,s for different things (mainly large commerical and strata stuff) the most disapointing was always the government stuff.
Previous company I worked for got invited to tender for the cleaning and lawn mowing for dep houseing in western sydney. Basic spec's where to attend once a month garden once a fornight cleaning (if i remember correctly)
Visited around 80 complexes, walked around mapped everything out, put together comprihensive tender everything. Ends up going to the cheapest (of course) and we where pretty competitive so after a bit of digging found out why we missed out.
Basically the company that wins the tender has its first review period after 1 yr. So all they do is tender dirt dirt cheap and never go. They then lose the contract at the 1 yr mark and the job goes for tender again. Sometimes the same company wins the tender again. Absolute joke. Spoke to one group of guys at one of the complexes who said that no one had been in 10 years and that they did the mowing themselves (they had the time after all)
your taxes at work people
Sounds similar to my experience with the dept of housing. I was a Jim's franchisee at the time. A third party contacted 3 of us through the office to look at units from wollongong to Kiama. I looked at around 30-40 and made a point of talking to at least 1 tenant at each site. The standard of work was generally poor (1 tenant used to re mow his part after the contractors left) and at least 1 site the tenants mowed themselves as the contractors hadn't turned up for 2-3 years. Found out later that the guy who contacted Jim's just used us to do the quoting, then undercut our prices and submitted his own quote. Don't know if he got the job.
Or they book you in for a quote and when you rock up to their house someone else has already done the job and they haven't given you the decency of a call to let you know. I always go and knock on their door with the sole purpose of embarrassing them, I had one feel so bad she booked me in for the next mow, I told her she now planned on doing to do to the new guy what she had done to me, as I walked away all I could hear was "I'm sorry I"m sorry I"m sorry" On the other end of the spectrum I have had people that dont give a sh!t even when you make them realize they have messed you around lol
First time working with my son on his first car. What better way to finish than a couple of grandfather ports.IMAG0062.jpg
