I did a TAFE chainsaw course a few years back now, theory & practical elements, have a
"Chainsaw Operations Level 1" card in my wallet in case a client should ever ask about competency.
And would still buy a Baumr over a "brand" name any day http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PRO-62CC-...item20b907471e $149 posted

He is not wearing the appropriate P.P.E. No chaps, no visor, no earmuffs, no gloves, no goggles, no hard hat.
What would OH&S say !!! Shame on them.

The secret to good cutting is the chain if its sharp makes for easy cutting hardly any wear and tear onthe motor.

Carlton chain is the best chain you can buy for your money alot of chainsaws come with a safety type chain.

I allways use Carlton Chain semi chisel faster cutting .

Picked up me new Hushy 445e 46cc 16in Trio brake today. Started it up in the pergola and scared the cr*p out of my Golden Retriever pal who I put inside the house with family before starting it.
Gee they look so much better made and thought out compared to the stuff at Bunnings.

Also picked up my Victa 560 at the same time. Now thats one big heavy mower to play with soon.
Think I've some manuals to read over in bed tonight.
    Cheers Garry

You will love the Victa 560 as we bought a new one around 6 months ago.(2 stroke engine)

Could not do the work we do without it and what a finish, it leaves poor old Harry Honda and his catcher for dead.

We only use Poor old Harry on the rare occasion as a vacum cleaner to clean up a feral lawn after the hard work has been done.

the safety chain does not kick back as much and does not cut as deep. It will then cause you less harm - ie maybe only lose one arm instead of two

I am doing a training course for 2 days next weekend to be certified to use it.
