Natives for a south facing fenceline

I have about 25 metres of fence line that doesn't get any direct sun for about 1/2 the year and full sun for most of summer.

My backyard is being planted as a native bush area.

Has anyone got any suggestions on shrubs/trees and grasses that could be planted along this fence line?

Correas, Poa will handle both full sun and full shade. I think one of the most showy small shrubs (under 1m around that will handle both is Crowea Saligna. I plan to plant a full fence line of it on my shady side of the house. Its not indigenous to Vic but grows well here in Melb. It will flower well in full shade also. They grow in a loosely rounded shape when mature. This one is growing on my south side of the house, but I also have a few in much darker areas. I took 5 or 6 cuttings that all shot last summer, and they are going around the backyard for my reno.
For shrubs over 1m I reckon nothing beats acacia acinacea. Indistructable, drought tolerant, showy. Only downside is they need a once a year tidy up. I basically cut mine back to about two feet high. You can also hedge them.

This a.acinacea is also growing on the south side of my house. It gets about 2m high max. I chop it right back after flowering, and it puts on a great show every year. I get alot of good comments about it from the neighbours, and have handed out 3 or 4 seedlings to the surrounding neighbours. They strike easily from seed, although they are a bit slower growers until they get into the ground from pots. Suit any soil type.

yep totally agree, mass plant them for an informal looking hedge about 1 meter apart. Try the Acacia Dazzler/Limelight. No pests or disease know to affect the acacia varieties, very hardy once established, no need for pruning. Plant them and forget about them, bloody brilliant.
